If a guy doesn't text you after the first date, what's the chances of a second date?

You thought the first date went well and everything, but you don't hear from him afterwards - no text or anything. Assume it didn't go well for him? So no second date?

Would you still chase after the person, if you didn't hear from them after the first date?

he's probably not interested. I've literally just got back from a first date with a girl. she had a great time. I couldn't get a word in edgeways. I won't be messaging her. if she does message me ill reply and let her know I wasn't feeling it. So id say sorry but he's probably not feeling it either.

But what if the guy said that it was a really relaxing afternoon with me... how much would a guy lie, just because I said I had a great time with him first? I did feel he might had just said it because I texted him first after the date... or maybe im overthinking it. I'm only questioning it because I was embarrassingly awkward during our first date and it was so unlike me since I am very outgoing, but he made me really shy because of our common interests for some reason

did he talk about seeing you again after the date? id probably bring it up if I was interested in person or text straight afterwards. He said he had a relaxing afternoon? he's probably telling the truth but that doesn't necessarily mean he romantically likes you

Well when I texted him about having a great time the day after our date, I also added about going to this exhibition together, but when I come back from travelling. Our date was 10 days ago and I was travelling for a week - I only just got back 3 days ago.

He did reply with a 'let's compare schedules when I'm back' and he knows when I'm back and knows I am back in town. But feels he doesn't care that much about meeting since he didn't contact me at all since I suggested going to the exhibition together.

Should I just leave it? I don't want to push him if he only said it to brush me off / knew I was going away, so just said something to my suggestion.

"lets compare schedules when I'm back" that sounds like he's blowing you off. You can straight up ask whether he wants to meet you again or wants to be friends. see what he reply's and then decide whether to leave it.

Thanks, I thought he was blowing me off at first when he said it, but I thought I'll give it time when I'm back since he did add me on fb, ig and even my LinkedIn after our date, whereas other guys I went on first dates and didn't feel it, wouldn't go to those lengths for adding me on social media. But I guess my initial gut instinct was right and that he was blowing me off in the first place, since it's been so long and the ball was in his court as I made the suggestion in the first place. Thanks for the advice anyways!

Just say "hey I had a great time with you last night, I look forward to seeing you again sometime!" Than you wait and if he doesn't respond, move on. Women should be the chasers but not overbearing. You should text him and ask him how he's doing. Than it's his job to set up the next date.

Move on. If he liked you then he'd text you for sure. He's got other females to chase. If you suddenly hear from him in a few weeks, then you're the backup chick.

I feel bad for the men of today. If they don't text, women just can't seem to understand. it always has to mean something negative. If he hasn't called or texted for a couple of days, I'd then worry.

10 days - but I've been travelling for the past 7 days and he knows that. So I've only been back for 3 days. We had our first date two days before I was leaving and next day after our date I text him to say I had a good time and we should go to this exhibition together when I'm back. Which he replied with a 'let's compare schedules when I'm back'. I feel he should follow up since he knows I'm back now?

I don't want to be the one that's always reaching out, if he's not that into me because that's how it feels like atm.

If it's been that long and he knows you're home, I'd say he doesn't want to go out again.

if it's been 3 days. and it depends on what kinda guy he is anyways. all guy are different. but if it was in my shoes, and I know you been back for 3 days and he sees you online in face book or school or some thing ( I am assuming if it was me ok) and he doesn't message you back then he moved on.
but on the other hand. if you seem like a real busy person, like you said you been traveling. he might think your to busy for him and he don't want to distract you, so he will wait for you to message him. he might also think you didn't like the date.
as for me I'm not the guy who will always be texting a girl like every 30 mins. Just to say hi or what you doing.( I feel girls get annoyed real fast.)
I give girls their space. he might be the same way. I don't know I would say message him. and if he does not respond that day then he doesn't want to talk anymore.

@asker when you invited him out and he responded with let's compare schedules that's a way of saying no. people now in days don't have the balls and the courtesy to be sincere. they rather play games until you give up also you already texted him so I wouldn't again unless he did.

Thanks, yeah I did think the schedule excuse was brushing me off... but thought i was overthinking it. But since it's been this long and he knows I'm back too - if he was really into me, he would text me since I suggested to meet and threw the ball in his court before I went on my holiday. Wish he would just said he wasn't interested and not be 'nice about it' since he added me on social media and liked one of my holiday pics too.

It's been 10 days, but even after the first date - he didn't say anything about having a great time until I texted him the day after and then he said it after. So not really sure what to do.
