No they shouldn't. They just need to stop negative self talk and stop defining their sense of their own value based on what others think. You become a lot less shy when you feel positive and if you don't let rejection become like a personal insult. If a girl says no it just means that for whatever reason she didn't feel like you were the right March for her but you will be a perfect match for someone. Get the courage to ask someone out if there is eye contact, smiles, and she touches you. And if she asks you out then don't pretend you were just being friendly because you're scared (yeah this happened to me 😒).

No. They should quit being so shy. Social skills are learned - practice talking to EVERYONE you run into every day, all day long. After while you'll get to where you can strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere.
This way when miss-hottie comes along you'll have no problem talking to her, and you'll be able to carry on a conversation. Your future depends on it.
Next, hit the gym, hard, and make lots of money. This is what girls REALLY like. But you have to be able to at least grunt at them. :)

No I was painfully shy and missed out on a lot of girls that were interested. But I changed that by practicing & forcing myself to ask girls out and talk to them. Now I can do it easily. Just practiced and give it time I promise it'll change

I would approach them in the grocery stores or parties just to practice. I got rejected a lot but they were all nice about it. But I learned if you approach a girl facing her it makes her fell weird it's better to talk to a girl that stand beside you because they don't feel like your barricading them... but before you know it i started getting numbers. And started to communicate better. Just remember to be confident, keep your head up, me assertive, make eye contact fake it until you make it. But being shy as it perks because females love the mysterious guy. So if you get the number don't be too available make her chase you.

I think shy guys should stop giving up on themselves. By giving up on women, you're essentially giving up on yourself. You're sick of rejection and therefore completely avoid it out of fear and that's some bitch-made type of thinking right there. Work on yourself and women will start to come along. If you want to just throw in the towel at 20 years old, then go ahead and do so but you'll end up like every other pathetic guy on this website.

practice with random strangers outside, make small talk, don't start with hot girls because obviously you are going to freeze up. Start little by little.
