Is being shy a turn off guys?

i was wondering if a girl who is really shy and a little insecure is a big turn off.would you even waste your time on a girl like that?or would you at least be willing to try. once I get to know someone I'm more outgoing and have been told I'm funny.but it can take awhile to be comfortable with someone.

i had the same problem... my friends helped! You meet people threw your more confident friends... and once your out there with more people you'll see, it will get much easier! you need something to gain your confidence.

But don't worry it's not a turn off! I thought so at first... but no! it rarely is!

most of the good guys (keepers) would rather go for shy girls!

I'm shy until I get to know the person, and so far that's gotten me nowhere. Online everyone seems to like shy girls most of the time but I've kinda noticed it's the other way around for me in "real life". Then again it could just be my age group. :P

I think dating and relationship activity really picks up in the mid-twenties...because that is when they really start pairing off and getting married...so I believe your "age group" point is valid...

I don't think it is. I'm a pretty observant person so I notice all the little things so even if somebody is shy and trying not to draw attention to themselves doesn't mean I don't notice them. I'm also pretty good at reading people so if I think someone is a good person I would definitely want to get to know them.

thats alright actually but a lot of guys won't notice you if you're shy. Depending on the type of guy you want its not really such a turn off though. Quieter guys will probably be the ones to like you though, or very family type boys. Insecure might be an issue though :)

Kinda depending on how shy the girl is, if she can break outta her shell after warming up then it's not a turn off. But if she never says anything then it's a turn off as she might be insecure to what guys would think about her or is afraid of opening up to strangers who she doesn't know.

it's a turn on, but you need to be able to say yes when a guy asks you to do something. If you act bitchy or always run away from dates then guys are not going to waste their time

No I like shy girls because I am shy myself. But if were talking I like to hear more than just yes and no to everything I say to here, I want her to be able to communicate with me as I can communicate with her.
