Guys, Smart girls - is it a turn off?

Do guys like smart and witty girls? If yes, why there are so many hot, smart and witty girls who are single and those who are not as fun or smart are actively dating?

Let me help you here. You are focusing on the wrong things. Of course guys like smart girls, no one wants to end up with a dummy or rejects a girl cos she is so smart. For guys physical attractiveness is like 70% of the attraction. The attractiveness of a woman has more to do with looks, femininity, if she is a good person and not a bitch, her core values (good guys usually want "good girls", most guys would prefer egalitarians over SOME TYPES of feminists), all those come first before we start thinking of personality: above average smart will do (be smart for yourself, most guys dont really care about it), a good sense of humor (not necessarily funny) etc. Girls are more into the personality, the confidence the looks, but its different for guys. Guys who send dick pics expect girls to like it as pussy pics will turn them on not realizing that women aren't as visual. Men are being shamed for appreciating physical attributes and so they tend to say, they appreciate personality more but the reality is different. Guys say they like a certain girl because of her brains but those girls are not ugly either. Have an EXTRAORDINARY personality for yourself but that's only a plus for a girls attractiveness.

It depends. Generally speaking I came to the realisation that intelligence is overrated by many people for a functioning relationship.

Yes, your partner should be intelligent enough to be able to follow what you have to say, but other than that there are tons of more important attributes in a partner. Intelligence is just barely somewhere in the middle of importance.

So why depends? Because I came to the observation that many very intelligent girls seem to lack on attributes that I deem a lot more important in a partner - which includes femininity, affectionate and passionate.

The people who aren't attracted to intelligence in a woman sometimes stake their masculinity, on their own intelligence, so they feel like less of a man if they aren't the brains of the two.
Intelligence can be a turn off for people insecure about their own intelligence, they'll compare themselves to them.

As long as she's hot why would it be a turn off? Stupidity is a turn off. I used to have a thing for Jessica Simpson until that retarded chicken-of-the-sea comment. I'd like to think she was just making a joke and my fantasy isn't ruined, but I'd probably just be kidding myself. To answer the second part of your question, this site is NOT the home of the average male. Most of us here are introverted nerds to some degree, as i've found from more than a few opinion polls. In the real world, many many more men are simply not appreciative of intelligent women.

Smart women tend to be stuck up and arrogant. Both of which are not good qualities guys find attractive in women. Compound the fact that women in general think they know better than men and her being fact will mean she will always undermine you, and try to run the relationship.
