Would you always text a girl to make sure she got home safe?

The new guy my sister is dating doesn't seem to care if she gets home safe from being with him and it pissed me off cause she was mugged a few days ago in her way back from seeing him.

He never checks on her or walks her to the bus stop to make her she got on she got off safely. Is it just a gentleman thing to do? My boyfriend still texts me even if I'm out with my own friends to make sure I got home safe just a simple text he sends.

I only do that when I care about the girl or want a relationship with her
