Should I not add my crush on social media and what reasons shouldn't I add him?

I like this guy sooooo much but not sure if he would want me on Facebook or Instagram. We get along great and he talks to my parents when he sees them at his work (Which is the only place we communicate) and he even tells my parents that he misses me, for them to tell me to go see him, asks where i am but when i go see him he acts kind of distracted around the room. we've known each other for about 8 and a half to 9 months. I wouldn't consider me as a friend but a very well known customer. When he sees me while he's at work he always comes up and talks to me and im the only customer he does this to. He's complimented my slight change of hair style recently but sometimes he's kind of strange. He'll be distracted and act like he's avoiding me and looking everywhere but listens to every word I say and hears it perfectly. It seems like he's trying to avoid eye contact with me or just avoid me period but sometimes we end up making eye contact. He's pretty comfortable talking about where he lives, his future, asks for my opinion, etc. He seems to be distracted while I talk to him and looks around the room but when im not looking at him he looks at me or looks at me from the corner of his eye and if I haven't seen him in a while he asks what's new with my life and says "I haven't seen you in a while" even if it's been one week. He's never asked me to add him on anything or asked for my number which is another reason why I'm scared to add him on fb and Insta. He always has big smiles when he sees me but nothing has gotten anywhere due to me being extremely shy and him possibly not interested. What should I do?
