Well she lives in Canada near New York and I live in california so it was a long distance relationship and so we would message each other back and forth but usually it was small talk... And 3 months ago I messaged her "hi" and 9 days goes by and she doesn't reply so my friends in Texas told me "if she doesn't want to contribute to the relationship then just break up with her" and like the idiot I am I listened and broke up with her

I would assume she did not take it well cause she goes so many days without contact. Give her some space think about what you said did etc.. if she don't contact you then you got two choices.. if you like her keep trying if you feel deep down she was not doing her part then you may have saved yourself subconsciously.
