Asked for a second date, no reply; now what?

I went out on a date with a guy, it went well & we still talked after; he would say good morning, or asked how my day went even if I didn't text him first so it seemed like he was interested.

So Friday (a bit over a week after our first date) when he said he had nothing to do for the weekend but he wished he did I thought that was a good time to ask him if he wanted to get some coffee & hang sometime Saturday; but nothing that night or the next day.

I'm not sure where to go from here, do I wait a few days & ask about it, or pretend it didn't happen? Or do I wait for him to message me?

I'd ask now, if it was me. Dont give an easy out question like "Did you get busy?" either, keep it simple "Hey, want happened to ya?" Make him give an explanation for his non-actions. Decide if it seems credible, and judge from there as to what you do.

i dunno, that IS weird. i think you did it right, dude was totally asking for you to ask him out.

my only thought is maybe he is kinda dating a few diff people, and he fed that line to a few others and someone else got to him first

He seemed kinda shy so I'm not sure but maybe; its kinda irritating because on the date he mentioned he was pretty blunt & it was so abrupt.

A 'no not this time' would have been way better.

It could be he ended up making plans and didn't have the heart to decline your offer or was afraid it would give you the impression he wasn't interested in you or would piss you off.
