Depends how they utilize it, I suppose. I used to be a member of Mensa but I was on the bottom end, just at the entry level in terms of IQ. So almost everyone there had a higher IQ than me.

I didn't really get along so well there with many members though, as I liked too many low brow things, interrupting a guy trying to talk to me about the plausibility of Singularity by talking about a girl's butt while getting pretty drunk. :-D

The one exception was a girl I met there who was a medical researcher, and I liked her since her intellect came bundled with a really cute sense of humor. She ended up going to night clubs, for example, to "research human sexual behavior" (her words). I liked her a whole lot and had such interesting conversations with her, but she didn't let her intellect get in the way of her humor. Most intellectuals I met tended to be a whole lot more serious and maybe a bit on the antisocial side, but she was a fun-loving, easy-going type who loved to socialize.

Just depends on how well we get along.

My wife's also quite the intellectual, though I'm not sure who is smarter (I would claim I'm smarter but she'd probably claim she's smarter). :-D I'm from the STEM side (computer science) and she's Arts and Humanities with a Master's in Literature. So we focused on very different areas of specialization. But it wasn't our intellectual interests that brought us together so much as having a similar idea of what's fun and having a compatible style of communication, and she's also not very serious as someone with a big sense of humor.

I haven't met any, recently, but I would love to!! My mind is turning to mush, at the mundane job I do, and I have no intellectual stimulation, and I usually prefer that, from women, as they are more open, and adventurous with their intellectual challenges!

When a girl and guy hook up and stay together awhile they tend to pick certain traits up from each other, that's what makes a good relationship.
Some guys aren't open to a girl who is above their intelligence level, some guys believe they have all the answers, so I'd say no guys don't like girls with more on the ball than them.

I would expect them to have a equal or more, reason being i can't deal with a grown woman who is completely naive, and i have to do everything for they're things she should be able to do then just cook & clean it's a whole lot of stress when you have to think for two constantly& the other is just in the dark about everything. So i prefer a smarter women or equal too, because airheaded women piss me off and they tend to do stupid stuff and act like children. It's not like im expecting anyone to change a tire or know when to change out your oil or qnything else with a car or how all the latest technology works but have a brain please that works don't hide it because you think it's cute.

About half of men are used to it... What men don't like is being disrespected, and we can be surprisingly sensitive to slights. If you're going to date guys that are not as smart as you, it's really important you don't talk down them or tease them about being less intelligent. You have to appreciate their value and worth and quality, and then you'll leave room for them to respect you back and value your intelligence.

I’ve had no issues finding guys who appreciate that I can hold intellectual conversations with them and may know facts that they didn’t know. It would probably depend the most on whether or not the intellectual (girl) had humility and was not boastful about her intelligence or putting the guy down if his wits were inferior to hers.

If she's standard deviations above me that would never work out. If she's slightly smarter I'm neutral about it. I prefer someone who is close to me in intelligence just so we can relate. If someone is much smarter than you that isn't good in my opinion.

As in all things it's a matter of extremes. I always imagined highly intelligent people seeing me as drunk or child like. Soooo yeah I wouldn't care if she thought faster than me or whatever but if she talked to me like a beloved Labrador and I couldn't keep up in any conversation about anything with her we would have problems.

Yes. I hate the stereotype that men prefer the “dumb/airhead” type of women because we “want to feel like we’re the alpha in the relationship”. In reality, only insecure guys with low intelligence dislike smart women. They feel like having a smart woman would damage their ego, so they only date dumb women to make themselves feel smarter than they are.

It depends on the man, and on how humble the woman is with her intelligence. If she holds it over his head and disagrees with him on several points, it could be rough, but if she is willing to share the intellect she has and not force it on a guy, it could definitely be a lasting relationship.

I'm not sure, not to sound arrogant, but I have way higher than average intelligence and due to statistics, I've never been with a girl who had higher intelligence than me. I find smart women attractive in general though
