How to text him “I miss you.” without sounding too clingy/needy?

I’ve been talking to this guy for almost a month. We always have a good time every time we spend time with each other. Ongoing conversations, lunch & dinner dates. I really vibe with him because of his humor and his religion. He sees God differently, and he’s a preacher. With that being said... he flew to L. A 10 days ago to meet his brothers. So I’m counting 7 more days before he comes back here in Hawaii.. he texted me before he left said his goodbyes, told me that he won’t be too long. We never had a conversation after that because I know that he got a lot of things to do.. but I really miss him... and I don’t want to text him that I miss him knowing that we’re still in the phase of talking. How do I tell him that In other words? How do I express myself without making myself look clingy and needy.

Don't say anything. At least not in words. Just send him a stupid video or something. It will make him smile, realize you are thinking of him, make him think of you, but not be awkward if he doesn't see it right away or respond to it.

i think texting someone anything shows that you miss them and were thinking of them.
you opened a chat and put their number there and what you say can be anything at all. sometimes i just send a smiley face

Ask him how his vacation/trip is going. You can fill the void of missing him by being able to talk to him, without having to tell him.
