What do you think about a guy who let's the girl pay for the first date?

I was on a first date with a guy. I offered to pay just to be nice hoping he'll turn me down but he actually took me up on it which was quite sad. I actually don't have money so the waitress swipped a gift card without money on it and I acted surprised. I was really embarrassed though and he ended up needing to pay. But I'm starting to realize I shouldn't offer just to be nice hoping the guy will be a gentleman and pay for the first date. I should just stfu and watch him pay.

What do you think about all of this?

I think a guy plans and pays for the first date. Because he plans, if he can’t afford to pay for dinner he plans other activities.

Is it bad if the guy quickly accepts for the girl to pay for the first date even though he invited her out and he does have money? (like he's not poor)

That’s a tough question to answer. You went on the date so you have a much better idea what’s going on. I like paying for the 1st date because I want to woo a woman, apply some romance because I want to lead her towards a long term relationship if feelings develop. If they don’t develop, then I will let her know. So I don’t know what this guy is thinking, guess you will find out based on how he acts from here.

I actually ended it. I told him I didn't feel a romantic connection. I also got a cocky vibe from him and he came off very arrogant and full of himself. He was rude too, checked the time on his phone while talking to me and he rolled his eyes a lot at the things I said. It was a very awful date. I ended it early and texted him that I didn't feel anything and I told him he was very rude.

Well he probably let you pay because he didn't like you and wanted to save some money. Some girls are hard core feminist who would actually want to pay and start an argument over it. Dont offer if you dont mean it.

If you don't mean it don't offer. All you are doing is manipulating the guy. Guys know when girls offer they dont expect to the guy to say yes. I'd imagine he didn't like you, so getting you to pay saves him money. Whoever plans the first date should pay, but after the first date who pays should alternate
