Sounds like my first few weeks in uni. Most of guys were out to get girlfriends while the girls were all shy and hung out mostly amongst themselves.

There was even this group of 8 girls, most of whom were quite pretty, who were friends who chose to go to uni together. Apparently, they made a promise to each other never to get in a relationship in uni.

Things quickly started unravelling when one of the prettier ones started pursuing a guy though..

I used to take SAT prep courses at Sarah Lawrence.
I grew up 10min away. Its very small and very cute.
Its too close to the hood though, just an exit or two away is cross county, and a few exits after that Jerome Ave in the Bronx.


I think women are highly competitive and were sizing each other up. I think guys dont care as much about their peers, unless they are weirdos. So they were more interested in scoring with one of the ladies.

My knowledge of American universities - or colleges, as they mostly are called I suppose? is pretty much limited to what I have learned from movies, publications, papers and a few articles.
It's quite funny actually, cause I always wanted to have a better understanding of your schools. I have this idea, that they are very different from what we have in Denmark - or Scandinavia for that matter - in a lot of ways.
Also, if often comes out like there is a tremendous amount of prestige attached to certain schools and getting in there. Is the difference between your many, many colleges really that widespread?
About Sarah Lawrence; from the movie I always imagined it as a college of pretty high academic standards and maybe a little more pro feminism (at least twenty years ago) in lack of a better choice of words.
