Should I tell my crush I like him or just ask him out?

I was thinking of casually saying "hey, I like you" while walking in the hall with him, but I don't know if that's best. I can't tell if he likes me too or not, but I know that if he doesn't, it would help me move on. Maybe I should ask him if he's going to home coming or just ask him to go to homecoming with me? I'm not sure if I should just tell him I like him, or instead just ask him out.

I'd ask him out to something other than homecoming first.

I wouldn't just say I like you, because you likely don't really know him. + it is just awkward. You are making a statement and putting him in the spot. It can be hard to properly respond. It is best to ask a question about doing something together and then at the end of the date ask, or ask after a few more dates. You don't want to to homecoming and ens up not liking the guy.

Can't say before knowing your situation but still you should first try to move closer to him then make him feel that you like him... if you are meant for each other then you will automatically feel at the right time when to ask him out. If you feel you like him ( you do as he's your crush) then just tell express your feeling in a right way. He will definitely love your compliment
