Soooo. I’m a girl, and I have a friend who’s a guy, and I have a really big crush on him. I think it might be obvious but he hasn't noticed. We're in 9th grade, and the school year started a few weeks ago. We've known each other since 7th grade though, but my crush didn't develop until this year because we didn't have any classes together so we didn't really interact. Now we have a lot of classes together and we sit close to each other in most of them. Now we talk a lot, especially in home Ec.
I have a friend, she's amazing, and she's been such a help with trying to get this guy to go out with me. We made a ploy for me to ask him to a fair this weekend as friends, and I think he said yes. One problem though, is that he doesn't have a phone yet (he's hoping to get one for Christmas) so we can't communicate really, however I do have his sister's phone number.
I think he has a crush on me, because he laughs at a lot of my jokes that really aren't that funny (but he laughs at a lot of things?) he starts conversations with me and does favors for me (he's really nice though so I think that might just be him being him), he asks me for advice and my opinion on things.
I really want to ask him out before homecoming in October, and I want him to be my date for HOCO.
Here's where I'm stuck; should I just ask him out blatantly or try to hang out with him as friends first? I'll take advice from anyone, particularly guys who actually know stuff about, well, guys. Please, please, please, help me. I really need advice. He’s 14, and I’m 13.
