What does it mean when a guy friend asks you about your ex?

Does it mean something when guys ask you what your "boy situation" is? I'm talking about a friend/acquaintance who knows you, not just some guy who is obviously flirting. Ever since my ex and I broke up, I have a few guy friends who will bring it up like asking if I still talk to him or if it is "for sure over." Do they ask about this because they want to date me or are they just trying to have a conversation?

There are might be two reasons why that question is asked:

1. They are interested in you, and want to see if the coast is clear. There are times when a girl/guy has strong feelings about their ex, that's why they boomerang back.then break up. There is no reason to start dating you if there is someone in your life already, or if you have left over feelings.

2. About 7 percent of the time it is a friend who's wondering about your well being.

But hey if it is a conversation with a friend, why ask this question? Its a touchy subject so there is no reason to bring it up.there are so many things to talk about other than that.

Some good guy friends ask,because they want to make sure you,their friend,are doing alright.But some might be interested in you,if they keep bringing it up,then I'm thinkin' they might want you to date.Good luck : ]
