Women are crossdressing all the time
100% no this is a mental illness
Women in pants are mentally ill?
@wolfcat87 No, because it's accepted for women to do it. But men in dresses and makeup? Unless they're camping on stage, something's wrong with them, is what society says.
Screenwrite exactly
I'm not agreeing Sydney. It might be a disorder or fetish. It's not like schizoid or major depression. It usually doesn't interfere with a normal life. It's relatively harmless. I mean if my dude is hanging around our pool in a lady's bikini and fluffy pink mules and that chills him out, it's a bit funny (I'd restrain myself from laughing, unless he's OK with that... but picturing a hairy buff dude in a woman's bikini and pink fluffy mules makes me want to laugh out loud), I think it's tragic, in a sense, that some men have to split themselves so drastically in to feminine and masculine and cannot be and feel androynous. Mental illness usually means the person cannot function normally. Transvestites can and do. They need their outlets, but they're not hurting children or raping or pillaging.
Mental fucken sickness 100%. Its not up for debate or discussion. All LGBT and associated is mental sickness.
You have a right to your opinion. It's not in the DSM as a mental illness. Psychologists ad psychiatrists agree. A disorder, yes. Illness always means it causes life difficulties that can't be surmounted. Most of these folk make it through life quite well. You don't have to like them or associate with them. Regards
Screenwriter fair comment. Disorder I agree with. I like the respect with which you compiled your comment its a pleasure exchanging views xx
DSM V has removed homosexuality et al from its mental illness list. This is the compendium of mental illnesses and disorders listed for psychiatrists and psychologists and social workers, created by those people for reference.
Humans have broad variations. Unless someone is HARMING someone else or themself, what they're doing is not considered a mental illness,
It's not about what makes you comfortable. At my job a young guy came in in a plaid skirt. It was different and took me aback, but, so what? He was unusual. But let the guy wear his skirt. Just like I wear my board shorts. I'm crossdressing too. Harms no one.
I think people being flexible is best.
Not at all. Total Deal Breaker
How exactly do women crossdress?
I feel as that would be more a feminine man or he's baby faced. If i saw a woman my age dress like that, I would assume it's a power thing. I don't think there would be any issue of her dressing like that though for quite some time... Though if she dresses in a suit all the time, she's getting a stern talking to.
Up until the late 60's woman were not allowed to wear pants, hiking boots, or anything that was not considered feminine. Now days women can wear whatever they see as a fashion. They put together outfits that are female and male genders. That's seen as fine. So technically all woman are cross dressers.
Technicalities don't matter in this situation though. I need literal. ;p
That person kinda looks like my dad
@MotherEarth2020 Women have been wearing men's clothing for a long time. The sixties were not the beginning by a long shot. Women in the west worn men's jeans when working on farms in the late 1800s. It was more common in rural areas and had to do with work. Women wore overalls, men's jeans and such. By the 1930s women's "slacks" were in fashion due to icons like Katherine Kepburn. Women were certainly hiking before the 1960s. They probably wore small sized men's boots. In the office workplace it took until the 60s and 70s for pantsuits and pants to be accepted in general. But little girls had long been wearing pants and shorts as play gear. Women wore them for outsdoor work and gardening if they chose.
Women crossdress because we can wear men's pants every day of our lives. But if men wear women's skirts, NOT KILTS, it's frowned upon or downright not allowed. I'm not talking about women wearing men's suits daily to work. That's serious crossdressing and not done as much. But again, it's allowed. Men don't have that freedom.
Woman wear pants, and men's suits.. etc. That was not allowed until the late 50's early 60's. It became socially acceptable. Make up and heals we're origanlly for men as stated by peachybaby. Woman have been cross dressing for centries!
@Pink2000 yessssssss...
My girl😀😀😀😀
I would not be ok with that
I think I'd be OK with it to a certain extent.
Yes but not if it is the only thing she insists on
What if they only wear it under their guy clothes?
I think there are all kinds of degrees of crossdressing. It seems to be to let off stress and express femininity: vulnerability. It's a drastic manner. But it also seems the more accepted their crossdressing is in a relationship, the more accepted they feel and the less drive their is to do so. I read that many years ago. It's interesting. There are crossdressing conventions all over the world (for men). Saw something on the BBC about this famous writer who did it at his conventions. Then went off motor cycling with the guys (in male drag) afterward. It's unusual.
Yes unless you want to be a bigot and a racist
What does racism have to do with this
People confuse bigotry with isms. You can certainly say not accepting men who crossdress is bigoted. But people have very strong biases about gender roles and gender expression. It is clearly not OK for men to dress as women in public, but is OK for women to dress like men. The only male female crossover that has been universally accepted are kilts and tribal male outfits that look like sarongs, long robes, etc. Modern, Western dresses and full makeup have not been accepted as public, male garb.
Racism is the cause to all worldly problems
well poll tells the whole story
No, that is an absolute turn off.
I couldn't date someone who did.
No eww. Maybe if i was bi.
Does he do it in public? Often? If seldom only at home then is it really a huge thing? Though by the sound of it he does it often?
It varies from person to person. I do think some men crossdress to fill a desire of some missing feminine part of their lives or to resolve that within themselves. All studies show if a man is allowed to crossdress, gets support through group therapy, etc... they feel better and learn to integrate themselves.
I think very few men crossdress. Most therapy works or doesn't work based on a persons willingness to change so i would say if that worked probably a lot of other things wouldve too since they wanted something new in the first place. They couldve gone to aroma therapy, meditation, yoga, or crystal healing and i bet they wouldve gotten the same results. But thats just my opinion.
Very few men DO crossdress because it's SO verboten. Big, strong men who are in charge of the world should NOT dress like little weak, pretty women! If you get my drift. But men who crossdress feel an urge to do so. Therapy may clarify why they feel so and resolving some of these issues may lessen the urge. Or may free them to dress or not dress as they please and to accept this part of themselves. I dont know. I'm no expert. It's fascinating, though.
Hello to the no to the no no no
