He wants me to talk in chat during his gamer stream, but I am shy. what should I do?

my gamer boyfriend always wants me to watch his stream and join in his chats but every time I try, I feel like he is embarrassed by me because I don’t know anything about gaming. I don’t want to say something stupid in front of his followers, so I stay quiet. He gets upset that I don’t talk, but I get super shy and quiet. I mean I’m afraid of embarrassing him. I told him but he keeps urging me to talk. What should I do?

i don't think he's embarrassed; i think he wants to show you off in a way. you interacting with him on his stream and his viewers means a lot to him. you absolutely don't have to though - if you don't want to or are shy and scared you don't need to. but if it's only because you don't want to embarrass him because you don't know anything about gaming, then i promise it'll be okay. you don't even have to chat specifically about the game. a lot of streamers have viewers that talk about their day or anything in general. in the end, it's up to you! if you want to, you can let him know and he can teach you the basics so you understand a little of what's going on. that way you can say something nice when he does something good :)

I don't think he cares if you don't know what or how it works. He wants share the experience with you. So even if you were to ask about something he probably wouldn't mind. Plus the gaming community are usually pretty good about explaining things without making fun of someone. I've seen many situations like that and we help each other out. Try again and actually say anything the comes to your mind. You will quickly get into to the action. 😎

How about doing a mock stream?
Ⓐ full stream setup but not online. Only video record. Then you could review how you act in front of the camera & improve
Ⓑ live stream but private and only accessible to few known friends
