i bet it varies from person to person. ik some guys who firmly believe that you're only allowed to be shallow in regards to dating in hs, and after that other stuff (like finances) become relevant too and then you can't just base everything off as looks. I've also talked to another guy who only cares about personality. for myself, physical beauty on a guy is not totally important. if i like a guy, ill find beauty in his flaws (cheesy ik). if i described to you my ideal man hed look NOTHING like some of the guys I've liked. i think if you like someone only for their looks, then its really just lust and its unlikely itll develop into love, because looks fade, and you may eventually find them ugly, and you also won't be motivated to form a connection
Shallow? Not all. Selective? Mostly.
Both are same, women just don't admit it for whatever reason. If you ask to choose between personality or looks, more women choose personality. Which wouldn't make sense as initial attraction is on looks, research is also proving it, and online dating debunks that myth. So its simply women admitting it, both genders are shallow. That's how attraction works.
Its simply women hold the power in sexual and dating dynamics, which can mean unrealistic standards by many women.

I find the very charming ones and pretty ones can be shallow - since they waste all their energy trying to project the perfect sexual image to others - the normal ones aren't that shallow - but I find the shallow girls are usually more aggressive than the ones that are deeper - so if you want to avoid a shallow girl - avoid an aggressive one
Women in general are more shallow, flightier, and prone to whims than men are. It's really not even a contest.
I was typing out a longer answer and as I typed out my thoughts came to a conclusion under this basis. I differentiate being shallow and living a shallow life. While guys are as shallow as many women. Women on average live a more shallow life and here is why.
There are girls from the day they turned 13 years old they had guys her age and older trying to fuck them. Imagine growing up with that for years and years and years.
I'd probably have more superficial aspects to me as well if that were my upbringing. If I had over a decade of girl after girl trying to fuck me, before I was fully prepared to handle it psychologically. If a girl whom was cute, but not as hot as girls I consistently had approach me. I'd be more inclined to turning her down solely because I'm used to having "better" in a superficial sense. Why eat hamburger, when you eat steak? You're a steak person.
Add on top of that you have your girls socially pushing you to do the same. Constantly saying you can do better than a guy if you commit the crime of picking a guy that doesn't meet one of your girls superficial standards. So even if you yourself aren't that shallow, your girl whom you care for and trust is and you take her advice in some cases. Therefore living by more shallow standards. Effectively being more shallow yourself, than you would have been if you made your own decision.
A friend of mine Rita told me about this exact thing. Her now husband is a guy who doesn't fit the shallow standards many have and at first she didn't allow herself to like him, because she thought about what her friends would think. What other people would think and how it makes her look. Took him months to break through that. She fell in love and married the guy. It's kind of beautiful in my opinion. The story of it. Very Lady and the Tramp so to speak. Sweet talking, good dude, who doesn't quite fit the standards of her aristocratic society. She's attracted but feels she can't be with him because he doesn't fit her world. The story is them going through it all, to where their love overcomes it all and they end up together. <3
That video was definitely interesting. I think we're all quite affeted by our instincts and we always want something from the people we interact with but that doesn't mean we should judge or treat others like trash because of this. You can lead your life with some class or with no class. And I still think the social interaction is important. I'm attractive looks wise but I still suck at dating so...
I think you can't really say who's more shallow since we both care about different things but in the end it's all for the survival of the species so does it really matter? Nature is a bitch and we didn't make it this far by handing out reproduction and survival to everyone for free ^^. This topic is honestly really complicated I've thought about ita lot in the past but everytime I think about it I think a bit differently and find new perspectives that I didn't have before. I do agree that dating apps social media etc. has made it even harder for average guys to find a girl. But I'm over being mad about "unfairness" in dating it's pointless.

The videos were interesting and make good sense. However, I doubt that your requirement is that a tall good looking guy must be a virgin since, although men want to be a girl's first, girls want to be a guy's last. Furthermore, if the guy is your age or older, tall, and good looking, it is not likely that he will be a virgin.
I prefer not to a person's preference as shallow. If your market value can demand a higher quality guy, it would be foolish and unnatural to accept less.
Whether or not women are more choosy may depend on the type of relationship. For a one night stand, women demand and can get an exceptionally attractive guy and men are not very choosy. For marriage, women must have lower standards because men have higher standards for a wife than for a fling. Ultimately, marriage comes down to the law of supply and demand. More men are born so women can afford to be slightly more choosy. Also, a higher percentage of women may choose to forgo marriage if they must otherwise settle for a guy within their league which also would make women more choosy.
Furthermore, women are more choosy because although very few guys will marry down, most guys will date down for sex and women choose to believe they have an excellent chance to marry a guy that will fuck them. Therefore, they are rejecting guys within their league that would marry them to have what they believe is a chance to marry a guy that will fuck them.
I think they are equally shallow in regard to what they want, it's just that men are more starved for attention; so, they are willing to settle for less.
A girl who is a 5 can reap the attention of a dozen 5's, while vying for the attention of an 8-10.
A guy who is a 5 will not get attention from nearly any girl (maybe a 2 if he's lucky), while dreaming of the 8-10, but trying for the 5-7 and being rejected again and again.
After high school, early college men have the added metric of their ability to provide for a girl, while earlier it was just on looks, which typically has very few guys seen as appealing, and a majority being losers (as they don't have careers yet).
This can later in life cause a reversal for many of the 5's (in looks) who in their later 20's/ early 30's start making a really good living, and will summarily begin being far more attractive to women.
you want a virgin man because the virgin man can fall in love at the drop of a hat and then put up with all the bullshit you have in reserve to throw at him. He will listen to all of your irrational demands and nagging that you will lead him to an early grave out of stress. You want to save yourself for marriage just because it's the best way to hide your bitchy personality from the man. Once the man has married you there is no money back guarantee. You got him by the balls and have an entire legal system to back you up in any case.
I don't buy into this women are hypergamy stuff. Today's woman want the guy who has everything and because of that these material girls can never be satisfied because no guy has everything.
Men on the other hand can be way more satisfied with a woman who is perceived to be below his class. She will be kinder, more attentive, and more accepting because she thinks of him as her trophy husband.

I think its normal to want a healthy partner. Beauty is determined by good growth. Good growth comes from good function and good nutrition. Its normal that people want this. Many women wear make up though. Some wear hair extensions, fake eyelashes, fake fingernails. All of this is an indicator of good growth and good nutrition.
Europe has a strong body culture for many thousand years. This is why Europeans put so much emphasis on the body. In modern lifestyles many people's bodies are weakened. This makes them get worse treatment from society.
I also disagree with the author of the videos that a man must have better bone structure than a woman to be attractive, because thats not true.
Women have their 10-15 years for build up deeper emotional connection with guy beyond the superficial physical appearance level. Of course this doesn't give 100% happiness guarantee beyond this time, but it's a chance. After this time is hypergamy just an echo from the past of a withered flower that doesn't attract bees anymore, just biomass scavenger.
I think... Women are their own worst enemy. Their relationships with each other are often toxic and extremely prone to peer pressure influence (whereas men who are friends are more like brothers or cousins and support each other). As a result, they care too much sometimes to obsessive levels about things that in reality don't matter much if at all.
In what context? Men are more shallow concerning attraction. I think women seek men that are equal or the same to her. I don't find that shallow: I find that logical because she wants to ensure that the man will be the best fit for her and any future endeavors (children for example).
I think everyone is a little shallow. We all have different tastes when it comes to what we are attracted to and I don't know anyone that is going to approach someone they don't find attractive. But many people might build a relationship with someone they wouldn't initially be attracted to, but become attracted to once they get to know them. It's all relative. Everyone likes what they like, you are somebody's type.
Maybe, I'm not sure. I've never really worried about it. I don't expect that the world should be perfect or that life should conform to some utopian ideal of fairness. If some women are shallow then some are not. There are extremes in everything.
I think so, women are delusional in the sense that they want a guy all other woman want and yet expect that guy to remain loyal to them.
The thing women don't understand about guys is that we're sexually attracted to all kinds of girls because we seek variety.
A good looking guy can be in a relationship with a very beautiful girl and still get the urge to have sex with a much less attractive woman.

Women more shallow in look standards? Yeah. U gotta like be stand out attractive to be get public attraction from a girl, but looks aren't really the thing girls look at the most.
Guys? They have lower look standards in general but they will usually always go for looks first.

I don't know that they are more shallow, but women are definitely flakier and more demanding than men (and more willing to walk away when something isn't perfect). I was talking with a few lesbians about this the other day, and they were telling me that they are always getting after straight women who complain about their boyfriends. Apparently they find it nauseating because dating women is just so much harder.
Kind of, yeah. About half of all males will fuck literally anything with a pussy and two legs, even females that are landwhales or deformed. Females won't do the same.
Everybody's shallow. All this bullshit about "I'm attracted to personality/soul/brains" has always been weak, and a blunt lie. At least you have the self-awareness and self-respect to admit it without playing games.
Honestly, I don't know. It seems the shallowness differs between the sexes as men will focus more on appearance while women will focus more on status and money, but I don't know about the difference when it comes to quantity. However, status can include the man's appearance too so I guess there is more in the shallow department, but that's debatable.
