Guys : Would you approach your attractive college classmate who has caught you looking at her several times and did not really reciprocate?

By reciprocate I mean she did not hold eye contact with you when she caught you looking at her in class. She sometimes did but they would be short instances. She looked away (out of shyness) for the most part. Would you approach her on the last day of class to talk to her if you were single and knew she was?

I would approach her, but how do you know she looked away due to shyness?
People tend to assume things because we all love 'mind reading'. We all suck at it, I might add.

But let me ask you this? What is the worst thing that can happen if you approach her?
Why wait till the last day?

She shows interest in return then you want more time to explore it.
If she is not interested, so be it.

Rejection is part of life. People deal with it daily but only seem to recognize it if it is in their face. Do not take rejection personally. You never know what's happening for that person or those people. You approach her, give it a shot, and see what happens.

Asking us about it won't get you any closer to actually doing it, especially if you have anxiety.

Anxiety is there (maybe you have no anxiety about approaching her, but by your question I assume you don't want to be rejected) because the opportunity for satisfaction is so great. It is the tease for something amazing. If you have anxiety and the outcome is GOOD, then you will have happy drugs released all through your body. IF you are rejected you get the not so happy drugs, but they will go away if you let them.

Talk to her, ask her to walk together, or coffee or study, or something and go from there.

If you are both girls, you have to take in account she might not even be interest in girls. But on the other hand, women are a lot more relaxed about same sex relations. If there's no worries about taking with her about it, your if your not afraid it might ruin your relation because of it becomes strange, I take my chances. Sometimes is just about going for a coffee alone. It trying to be alone. If she avoids it, you may have your answer. And if you get comfortable of being alone together, you can throw some hints on how beautiful she is. No one ever gets mad about a respectful and honest compliment. And then you'll keep going until you get a direction. Of course, you can always just say it to her directly

I did this with a male back in January (it was a 5week winter class) he was always polite, but I waited until the last couple of days in that class to try hitting him up on Instagram. He was never responsive, so I eventually took the hint. a lot of people in college are very approachable & it's no different than anywhere else.. if you're interested in someone, just let them know (: the worse that can ever happen is then not being interested back. But you'll never know unless you try

Nope. You said it yourself, there was no reciprocation. You being shy has nothing to do with him not approaching. He doesn't know nor should he assume she's just shy. You'd have to have a large ego to be like, "she didn't give me a sign, but I'm sure she's still would be interested in me " lol.

Also looking at someone doesn't mean that they are interested in them. If you're interested then ask him out, it's 2020. Otherwise you might regret missing out. Even if he says no you'll at least know.

Shyness can easily come off as disinterest. You'd think I could tell them apart being shy myself, but it's a lot easier to second guess yourself. I've had women make it super obvious, but when I approached, they wouldn't even glance at me. So then I'd back off before they fully realized and kick myself later.

Nope, if she's giving me signals that she's not interested, I will treat that as a big NO and move on. I don't get why this is rocket science for women. If you communicate NO, that actually means NO. If you have to invest in the relationship go for it. The worst case scenario is no, its not like you'll see her often anyway its college. If you dont personaly know her whats to lose? Be bold about it dont wait till the end. Im sure she will have plans and stuff to do right after.

That's just it he would have no way of knowing and by you not keeping eye contact with him shows him you're not interested so no he wouldn't approach you without risking rejection since he has no way of knowing you're single since you never kept eye contact.
