Do you think a 24 yo woman should be with a 58 yo man?

Question

I am 24 y. o. black woman and there’s a man at work (architecture firm) who seems to really like me, but he is 58 y. o. white man.

He likes to talk to me, help me with school work, office work, and he is very thoughtful. Bring me flowers often, give me massage for my back pain sometimes, and he is fun to talk to. I like him back.

But family and people at work noticed that we like each other and they hate it! He’s never been married with no kids. I am single with no friends in this new town that have been for the past 5 years. So I am glad to have someone to talk to. That makes me think.

Do you think I should agree to be with him? He says he enjoys my company and and sometimes he even mentions marriage.
Can anyone help, please?

I mean it's not anything wrong with it of course not but you have to realize you are getting the short end of the stick especially if you stay with him but I'm about to say may sound bad but 40 year old woman whose husband Castaway is going to have a much tougher time finding someone else to live out the rest of her life with Dan a 40 year old man whose wife just got to me I'm not saying he's going to die in 16 years but I'm just saying that let's say DeWitt until you're 50 and he's passed on then what you going to do if you plan on having kids then you're going to be okay because you have grandchildren you have a support system you'll have people around you that is your family but if you are left alone at 50 you get another 30 years without a family without that natural human necessity of having people in your life like there's no expense don't count I'm sorry they can become really close in like a family member but know it's different your kids your spouse is just different so if you're willing to sacrifice that later on and nobody Canon I'm playing because it's not there future happiness it is at stake it's yours and also on a side note here black chicks like white dudes? If your okay with it then go for it. However I would point out that is a huge age gap, which itself isn't the issue so much as what that means i. e. are you really going to be able to have a family with the guy? Are you going to be okay with the fact that their is a very real probability that your going to be single again by the time your fourty (75 years is average life span, he is almost 60)? These are all things to consider. Now if you accept that, and you think this is what is best for you then do it because its your life not every one elses, but if not then it may not be a good idea.

I definitely was not. But your an adult if you are into it it's okay you are old enough to make up your own mind, just take it slow and make sure he does not want to control you, a lot of older men get involved with much younger women bc they want to control them. Good luck

Personally, I think large age gaps in relationships are just weird. When someone is a certain age, for me, it's hard not to see them as a parent figure.

I also don't understand why you have to "be" with him. What's wrong with just being friends?

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks. Suppose you marry him. In twelve to twenty years he's going to become old old and you'll be caring for him as he declines. Only you can decide if he's worth the sacrifice. Or you could date him while being open to meeting someone closer to your age. That seems like the most sensible course. He should understand and be happy with that. I would if I were in his place.
