Is a 50 year-old man the right age for a 37 year-old woman?

My older sister is 37 years old and she's briefly engaged to a 50 year-old man. They're proceeding through to the wedding within a couple weeks. They're both after tax reductions, government and medical benefits (the rights to visit your spouse in the hospital and make medical decisions if needed) and to be included on health policies.

Neither of them ever had kids. Is a 50 year-old man the right age for a 37 year-old woman? Several people think he's too old for her. Is he or is it right?

The guy obviously looks just about his age and he's sure not attractive. My sister looks younger than her age but we can't forget she's really 37 and not very young anymore.

I mean… I’m sure they have 1,000 reasons why they love each other, age not being a factor.

True. They both wanted a short-term relationship of 1 year or under (both were bored with the dating scenario.. basically they didn't want to continue dating, got tired of dating) and proceed with marriage straight forward.

yeah I don't think they're really in love with each other. They just want a life companion that will be there for one another in medical situations if needed. I think they probably were worried about being alone at an older age.

That's too bad. Again to each their own, but I can't see that as an ideal situation.

True. They have something in common though. Like my sister, the man was bored and tired of the dating scenario and wanted a short-term relationship (1 year or under) and straight into marriage.

The 50 year-old man isn't even wealthy (just average and likely close to retirement at some point) and is definitely not attractive either. So I guess it works out. No young college aged women are going to go after him.

so they would they would both be even in quality? My sister looks younger than her age (she always did with her babyface) and can pass as a 28 year-old at most. The only problem she had is many men would were just after sex or wanted her only as a girlfriend. She wanted marriage but she wanted too long. So I guess getting an 50 year-old that no young women is attracted to and him not even being weathy is her best option now..

I really liked that 44 year old man as a 27 year old woman. 37-50 seems nice age difference.

It isn't a choose its an emotional your sister and her boyfriend couldn't control. Plus she's an a grown adult.
