He might have just been using that as an excuse. Too many guys don't want to be intimate with a woman for too long because he's afraid she'll develop feelings for him (and a lot of guys don't want to be "tied down" or get serious about a girl. He'd rather just "have fun" and have the sex with no attachments/commitments.)
It's not a good idea to have sex with guys too soon in a relationship anyway. It's hard to tell (in the beginning) if the guy really cares about us or whether he's just using us for free sex.

I don't think so. If a guy was really interested in you, he'd spend time helping you understand what to do to give him pleasure. It's one thing leaving a girl cause she just doesn't want to have sex.
