Why did he unmatch me?

we have been talking for about 3 weeks online, when all of a sudden he unmatched me. I would understand if it was boring chat but we were planning on meeting up and he had just said he can't wait to meet me. I went to reply to his message when he unmatched me. Why would he do this if everything was going really well?

To me that sounds like a person that had multiple contacts with girls and that perhaps got cold feet when the planned meeting became a reality.

Unfortunately, some people are not reliable and are not very courageous. That behavior is a reflection of the character of a person. Perhaps that for you, it was a good thing on the long run because that kind of people are toxic and only take advantage of others.

Rather than to be upset about it, be glad that it happened before you got more involved. I agree though that it is a cowardly way to behave.

The reason men and women ghost is because there is no response to rejection that the rejected will accept without becoming filled with hate and becoming toxic. At least in my experience if I am preparing to reject a woman, no answer is the best answer. There is no winning. That is why ghosting works today. Because those who are rejected don't cope well with it and decide to attack the rejector, shame them, blame them.

@jestergent Is that not a cowardly approach to the problem? If you have an issue, is it not better to address that problem rather than to hide and wait for the thunderstorm to be over?

If a guy (or girl) does not have the courage to face his/her decisions' consequences, then this person has a very low self esteem and is not reliable in a number of situations in life. That is certainly not a person I would entrust with a responsible position if I was a HR manager.

This type of behavior It is the mirror of a person's character and personality.

Well first, not worth braking your head over. It could be many reasons, could be a good reason, or a stupid reason. Maybe he already had a girlfriend, maybe he lied and isn't who he is, maybe someone else took his phone and unmatched you or maybe he was a plain idiot.
