Why did he always think he could do better even tho I was the best he’d been with?

During his first relationship age 12-17 he never tried with others well apparently he did but this is an ex saying he cheated.

He lacked confidence in getting people at this point massively

Then he had a one night stand then met me at 18-25 he always thought he could do better. even though his friends, family, all mines etc all said I was the best by far he’d had.

He always thought why am I with her when I could have this or that.

Wait... you stayed with him even though he had this thought that you were not good enough and he could get better? I would be out the fucking door if I even got the slightest hint that my boyfriend thought that. As to why he did? Who knows. Maybe he is a narcissist that things he is king shit and he is God's gift to the world. I don't know. I just don't get why anyone would stay with someone for that long when the obviously don't appreciate what they have. I would leave the jerk and find someone else.

Maybe he could but stayed with you because he did not want to hurt your feelings. Grest guys don’t like to hurt peoples feelings even they know they can do better. Your boyfriend might be a great guy.
