Do I stop taking with him?

I was in a long term relationship up until 6 months ago. I decided I should get back out there so I did. I downloaded the hinge app. I matched with guys and were texting a few. One of the guys caught my interest. He said we should hang out so he suggested a day and we met up for food. He paid for the meal and it went really well. We have only been texting for 2 weeks total but it’s weird because over text he’s more confusing and jokes around 24/7. In person he wasn’t really like that. He said he looks for an emotional and sexual connection. Do I keep talking to him and see if he makes an effort to see me again? I can’t tell if he’s cocky and a player or if it’s legit just him kidding around. He claims he’s rarely serious.
