Why do girls say whoever asks, should pay for the date when they never ask men out?

Whoever asks and chooses the venue should pay. It is hardly fair for me to say, "Let's go out." and then choose a restaurant I like that might be a budget breaker for her, after which I drop the separate check stuff.
If one asks and the other chooses the venue then they should each pay for their own. That seems fair to me.
But always be clear before going on the date.

they do say that openly.. who ever says 'whoever asks should pay" even they do know its BS... "why would someone pay for something you ate or drink.. or anything of sorts.. can't you handle yourself" is what i say to them.

2.) If you don’t want to pay for the date then don’t ask women out on dates OR just ask her to split the check beforehand.

I think it’s silly to do or not to do something bc of something you have no power over. this case chromosomes. I don’t choose my chromosomes but I can decide whether or not I’m going to ask someone out.
