His ex just reappeared and now he doesn't know what he wants?

I've been seeing a guy for about 3 weeks, and as far as I know we are exclusive, although we haven't had the talk.

Then, after 6 months of no contact, his ex girlfriend popped up and said she wants to see him. So, he met with her, and she wants to get back together. They were together for about 4 years, and she is close with his teenage son (not hers).

He saw her again this week, although it was apparently just for a few minutes.

After he saw he the second time, I found out about it - he didn't tell me. When I asked him about it he told me that they'd just talked twice and she wants to try again).

Now he says he doesn't know what he wants, and he needs to think about it, but he wants to keep seeing me while he thinks. Should I just go along with it, or tell him that we're off until he decides?

I kind of want to be the cool woman who says "go ahead" because I know I'm a better choice than she is, so he is gonna choose me...

So, I have brought up the subject again, and he says that nothing happened between them. He said that the relationship is too new for him to know if it will work out, but he does really like me and has really enjoyed things so far; he just needs to see how things go as we get to know each other.

He says he is not interested in his ex.
