Yeah it’s dead. Marriage used to be held up and reinforced by social contracts between men, women, and society as a whole which no longer exist.
In the past pre-marital sex, birth out of wedlock, adultery and divorce were all heavily stigmatised. Now we have hook-up culture, no fault divorce and the culture has loosened it’s sexual morals dramatically.
In the past as a man you’d meet a nice virgin girl, court her, meet her family, marry her, have a bunch of kids and you’d be almost guaranteed to stay together. You’d work, she’d take care of the kids and the house. Husbands were respected.
Now you’re picking from a bunch of women who’ve been pumped and dumped on Tinder multiple times, selling titty pics on OnlyFans, who expect you to earn good money and treat them like princesses, pay the bill, but don’t you dare expect them to cook you dinner you chauvinist pig. Husbands aren’t viewed as being respectable anymore, they’re all Homer Simpson.
Well, if anything it's certain that it's dying, as well as it should. It's an old religious institution that secular people carried on doing to signal how big and important their relationship is.
I think people need to stop pissing on marriage and relationships. I’m tired of hearing it’s because of money too. Maybe for you it is, but not for everyone.

Why do you say that? I'd love the female perspective?
