My friends tell me I’m very high maintenance... is this a bad thing? Will guys immediately be turned off?

I didn’t even know I was high maintenance? But sure I like to wear expensive makeup and I like nice clothing but I am not superficial in the sense that I think those things define a person. I could not care less how my man dresses or my social status or any of that. I like to take care of myself and I have a great job that allows me to splurge on myself and others.. so yeah I look well put together but I don’t judge anyone or myself based off of it. I just like looking pretty lol. And now I’m being told I need to seek men who are more successful because I’m apparently coming off high maintenance. I had one guy break up with me because he felt inadequate career wise and thought I’d eventually leave him, which I never did anything to make him feel that way except for being successful. I don’t expect much from the guys I’m with and actually hate when they buy me things. I’m more of a giver and I’m a super chill girlfriend. I don’t get why they even think I’m high maintenance.

My last boyfriend said I was high maintenance too, but for a different reason. He said I couldn't leave the house without dressing perfectly for the weather. And that it took me a long time to get ready. It's true I always wear the right layers for the weather, and do have lots of accessories, but like you I don't think that's high maintenance!

If you are high matinance that uh s a turn off. My girlfriend and I have an attractive friend. She is extremely high matinance even just as a friend. So despite her looks I would never consider dating her because it would be too much drama

Nah, if anything it's attractive that you look after yourself and dress well etc. guys commend that. I wouldn't recommend changing yourself at all - most probably your friends are envious of it hence their comment aha.
