How is it needy? You're just trying to make sure you are respecting the other people. If people treated me like that, and I have been treated like that, I'm gone. There are people who doesn't have a problem with that. However, I would question what does the friend needs to meet with me about? It has to be important and it depends on this is. A male friend or a female friend. For male friends, I need to know what it is that he wants and not spend too long in private without the company of others. I have a lot of boundaries with male friends.
