Why would he drop a girl’s name into the conversation that I don’t know?

Sort of dating this guy, nothing serious - only seen him 3 times. We’re meant to be meeting later today and he texted this morning to confirm a time and then he says ‘I’m going to have breakfast with Amelia (my friend - future flatmate) then I wanna clean the place a bit.’

I trust the guy and know he’s moving out soon and is moving in with a girl. And I’m sure the girl didn’t stay over since he was texting me as he was going to the station this morning. If I was meeting a friend, I would just say ‘meeting a friend’ I wouldn’t drop a name. Is he worried I don’t trust him or something? Why would he name drop a person to me?

Probably someone you’re going to be seeing quite often even if the two of you decide to date seriously. A guy isn’t going to give a specific answer whether you ask him or not you just have to read in between the lines sometimes.


For instance, look out for consistent patterns if he’s always scheduling to meet with you late and it’s always “I’m going to meet with my friend Amelia” or it’ll soon turn to “I’m going to meet with my friend”. Be on guard and don’t put your guards down just because you guys are interacting with each other. He’s still a single man and haven’t addressed anything regarding a relationship or possibly taking things to the next level (my assumption).
