I'm gonna give you the same three pieces of advice I give everyone who asks a question like this. Please bear in mind that none of what I'm saying is meant to be construed as a comment about you or your particular situation, this only general advice.
If as you go through life, you ever find yourself in a position where you are consistently interacting with members of the opposite sex that don't do it for you; at least one (probably more) of the following things is DEFINITELY true.
1. The company you surround yourself with sucks. (No one's friends are ever the best part of them and that's especially true of women, there's a good chance that your girlfriends are a bunch of soul-sucking harpies that you would be better off without.)
2. You've never taken the time to properly describe what you actually want/need in a partner, so you're just hunting around for the magic feeling, not ever taking the time to understand what that looks like for you. (also really common. It turns out that people look for reasons to be unhappy.)
3. It is entirely possible that you don't bring enough to the table to attract the kind of guy you want. I know we all want to believe that we deserve excellence in our partners, but the reality is that a whole lot of us don't bring shit to the table. I know a LOT of women like this; they just don't bring much to the table in relationships.12 Reply
Asker+1 yWhat do girls have to offer to the table in your opinion?

Be a fun and pleasant person to be around. Be encouraging, purposeful, driven, supportive. Know how to have conversations. Don't be argumentative about things that just don't matter. Know how to express the value your man brings into your life. Don't make everything a competition, especially where something like money is concerned.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yPossibly because you're interested in guys that many other girls are interested in, so it becomes the guy's choice and he chooses the best girl. In other words, there is a lot of competitionand you aren't winning.
Another explanation could be that you don't present yoursef as someone that's interested in whatever type of guy you're interested in (e. g. you dress formally but you're interested in skater guys).
Lastly, you could just be unattractive. If this is the case then the unattractive guys that have no chance with average or attractive girls think they have a chance with you because they know you're also not getting attractive guys because you're also unattractive.
Not giving us any context doesn't help; edit your post to describe yourself and describe the guys you attract.14 Reply
Asker+1 yI can’t seem to update the question, so I’ll just reply here. I’ve been complimented on my looks. I also see myself as caring and nice. I might be a little shy around guys, but I do eventually talk when I warm up to them. I want someone simply just respectful and that I could be attracted to them. When someone comes into my life, I tend to care a lot about them and want the best for them, so I do expect something equal when it’s from him. By guys I don’t want, I mean either toxic, disrespectful, only want sex, or I just simply can’t be attracted to them. Hope this provided a little context. I’ve also met a lot of guys who were my type, but I feel like it’s hard to get close to them or they might not exactly be interested? I don’t know.
Opinion Owner+1 yFirst, being complimented may not even be valid; some people compliment just to be nice. Also, it depends where this compliment came from; if it came from the guy that most girls want then it would be more valid since he's choosing to compliment you rather than the other girls. If it came from an average guy or an unattractive guy then it could be genuine but it could also just be him trying his luck with you.
Second, the guys you're interested in may only act when they know you're interested in them because of their nature (being respectful or whatever). Shyness clearly won't help if that's the case, especially given that men as a whole are demonised for "pressuring" women even though only a subgroup of men do that.
The guys that you attract seem like normal guys. I don't know what you mean by disrespectful but it's possible you mistake their banter for disrespectfulness. Also, you need to be aware that the guys you're looking for are in a niche so when your opportunities come, you need to acknowledge that you need to show somehow that you're interested (not necessarily telling them that or being too forward).
Asker+1 yOkay, makes sense. Your opinion actually gave me insight. I could either seem too emotionally unavailable as I’m shy or I’m not sure. This made me recall a few situations in the past where I made my friends tell the guy I like, about me and they’d usually say I’m really cute but then they wouldn’t pursue a relationship with me or make a move even though my friend told them I’m interested, so I’m guessing there’s smth I do that puts them off or maybe I should’ve asked them myself as I tend to shy away from these things? Perhaps I’m way too reserved and uptight or maybe they just don’t find me that appealing? I’m not sure tbh. It remains a mystery to me lol, but your opinion def made me think.
Opinion Owner+1 yAfter hearing that, I think it's definitely the shyness. Once a girl got her friend to tell me she was interested and I found the girl somewhat attractive, but it felt like it would be unnatural to start a conversation because I assumed I'd have to carry it, which is not something I'd like to do (it shows no effort on her part and I wasn't interested in breaking my back to make it work).
When I did get around to texting her, I ended up having to do just that which was not enjoyable - I was not interested in a relationship that I'd need to carry alone, especially when I wasn't exactly searching for one. I ended up not speaking to her again.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 y... How to put this. Decent folk generally are not as obvious as toxic, disrespectful, etc. individuals. You are expecting things instantaneously. Doesn't usually happen.
The toxic, disrespectful, etc. try their luck with anyone. They'll eventually get someone of the opposite sex who'll say "yes" if they try often enough. And they know it.
This is best exemplified with my boyfriend and his brother a few years ago. My boyfriend was very discrete. More of a guessing game - is he interested, am I reading too much into it, etc. - for 2 years. Most will wonder why did I wait for two years. Well, I wanted him that's all that mattered.
His brother, on the other hand, by the 2nd day met was making sexual innuendo comments that I did not enjoy by any stretch. And well he's well known to jump around from bed to bed / not be able to keep a decent relationship.22 Reply
Asker+1 ySo what exactly are you saying here?
Opinion Owner+1 yYou're expecting instantaneous results. Doesn't happen with decent folk. We want to figure out if someone's worth the time & effort.
It's just a reaction girls do when they feel shy...
Cos someone u are attracted to u feel weird in front of him not really comfortable... And it becomes awkward everytime u try to get closer to him...
However if someone is into u, it feels better and more comfortable like he's the one who should make effort not u... So u gonna be urself cos u don't feel anything towards him20 Reply

+1 yOne thing I'm going to ask, if you are sexually/romantically attracted to a guy, do you initiate physical/sexual touch or advances, and let them know verbally from the start you like them like that? For example, do you put your arms around him, kiss his head or give him direct eye contact, hold his hand, do you compliment him, have you told him what your intentions are along with letting him know you are sexually attracted to him? This is one thing where people our own age fall flat on their faces with attracting people, is that we never do anything sexual from the start with that guy or girl we like, particularly from the start, as we are afraid of rejection or we are afraid of being labelled a slut/man whore. As humans we are more likely to be attracted by people, mostly, who let us know physically and verbally any sexual intentions we have for that person as soon as possible. So, next time if you are attracted to a guy, let him know physically and verbally what you think of him. If he rejects you, not the end of the world, move on. If reciprocates, then you know you have a mutual sexual attraction and you can take it fast or slow. Hope this helped.
03 Reply- +1 y
That is not a people our age thing. In fact most of the young generation is far more open about their sexual advances and goals then a lot of the older generations. It depends on the person and their values/beliefs. As for attracting someone by starting out sexual right away, you can be in for a rude awakening. Some men truly don't like that at all (I've been with a few like that) while others might love it. Some women will feel like you are just wanting to date just to have some fun and that is it (I know I do). I've even turned down guys that I felt were way out of my league (GREEK GODS with brains) because they started out sexual too soon when I just wanted to get to know each other as friends first without the sex. I am not tryna bash you- this is not a matter of who is right or wrong but rather of a matter of you can't fit everybody into the same box when it comes to attracting a partner
- +1 y
@Leahbear232 To be fair that's what I said "If he rejects you, not the end of the world, move on. If he reciprocates, then you know you have a mutual sexual attraction and can take it fast and slow." Everyone's different, but a lot of the time waiting around and never initiating any sexual chemistry, not talking right away from when you first meet them, but a month or so or whatever down the line, is going to get you friend zoned. Not talking about sex either, my examples include "Kiss on the head", "arms around him", "direct eye contact", "holding his hand", "compliments", as this gets your intentions across clearly, and convey you want more than friendship and you can take this fast or slow. For example, test to see what happens if you play with his hair, or run your fingers through it or whatever. Of course, get to know someone, but you've got to know how to incorporate the two well early on in the getting to know each other stage. Speaking as a guy here, so giving examples on how to attract guys. We're simple creatures and nine times out of ten, if the guy isn't a player, or an asshole, then if you incorporate the two well, then a few months down the line he'll become attracted to a girl quickly. If not then, whatever she can move on and try different methods out on another guy
- +1 y
Hey- what ever you are talking about works for some. Doesn't for me. I know what works for me in that department and have been lucky to have t-3 majority of the time been in sync with whoever I'm dating. If someone doesn't have the patience then clearly we are both wasting each other's time since I need a lover who savors a sloooooww burn.

Asker+1 yWell I’m not really looking for someone with money. I’m a simple girl, I just want someone respectful, nice and someone I find attractive looks wise. I think this is the bare minimum and I’m looking for it. I do tend to care a lot so whoever comes into my life, has to meet what I can give out, but the main question is I tend to attract a lot of guys with toxic traits, just looking for sex, or guys that I simply can’t get myself to like them. So, is it wrong to want someone who’s just respectful and your type?
- +1 y
Ya standards are important. I mean how the hell you gonna marry a guy not at least funny, strong, dominate, good looking, with a good personality, money, 6’+, with at least 8” of cock, his own home, vehicle, no kids, wants kids, same politics, same religion, the right race... You see the issue?
I’ve been with several women I wasn’t physically attracted to. But what is marriage? After a while the sex stops and you get used to imperfections they have. A 10 in the park is no different then a 3 in the dark.
Your priorities need to be. What you want from marriage. Children. How to raise children. Good man. Makes money or at least works hard and has a plan.
I have a theory. This newer generations too stuck on the idea of love. Love is the biggest bullshit word that exists. You can’t love someone time you know them. You can’t really know someone until you’ve spent years suffering life with them. Sex. Suffering. Happiness. You think you know someone enough to love them? After living with someone for 10 years you can still grow to live or hate someone. You need to prioritize basics. A man that won’t be lazy or hurt you that agrees on how to raise kids or how to run the home. Your making a promise to live for and with someone and they you. If you have kids and he wants to beat them and you don’t gonna be a problem.
Women that look cute, arnt slutty tramps, have a good head on their shoulders, and want a husband and kids can find a man fairly easy. The question is how your gonna handle him. He too ugly for you? You gonna try and use sex on the first date to keep him around?
Please don’t fucking put out off the bat. I won’t respect a woman that puts out immediately. But at the same time. To men women are only really good for one thing until their important to you... having kids. A woman is a person but if you just a woman your a chance to get laid. When he knows your name and cares you become more than a potential lay.
Asker+1 yWell I do agree with you on the priorities and that’s what I put out and yes obv looks fade as we grow older but there’s gotta be some level of attraction there and not just have it feel forced. Im not the type to mess around. Kinda want something serious and saving myself till marriage. So I might have set the bar a little bit higher than usual but I do know what I've got to offer in return. I don't know if that gives off the wrong impression though or just drives the ones that aren’t ready to settle down away.

"guys I'm interested in"... you word that is if you just sit back and wait for guys to approach you... and the ones you WANT do not approach but the ones you do not want do approach.
Hence, it is all up to everyone else while you sit back and do nothing. If there are guys you are interested in than APPROACH THEM.

+1 yThe guys you're interested in are not interested in you at all, so except that. Or maybe you're not shooting your shot like many women avoid doing. If you're an attractive woman, especially with a nice body, a lot of people are gonna be attracted to you. However, based on the context alone, you sound focused on superficial or there is one or two traits you dislike in men that happens to be shared amongst those you don't like.
I hope you're not one of those women who only want "High Value Men". I really hope you're not one of them.05 Reply
Asker+1 yBy high value what exactly do you mean and yeah Im not into the whole I only want you so I can f*ck you kinda thing or I’m gonna talk down to you because of my ego. I expect respect, someone who knows their boundaries. I don’t think I’m being unfair here. It’s minimum standards and as for looks, anyone would be lying if they said they don’t consider that a bit. I obv look for personality more, they can grow on me, but I meant that there has to be some sort of level of attraction there for a relationship to work and with the ones I don’t want, I just can’t seem to see myself with them even though I do give them a chance. So I don’t think I’m necessarily superficial.
- +1 y
So you have an ego and expectations? Respect or kindness is a given and everyone should receive that. But how do you expect someone to just ultimately respect you if your ego is allowing you to talk down to guys that you don't like? If one of these guys that you like was aware of this how do you think that makes you look?
Asker+1 yNo I meant that I’m not into the “I’m gonna talk down to you Bcz of my ego or the I’m only looking for sex” type of guys. Not me saying that about them. I don’t talk down to any of them. That’s just rude. You misunderstood what I said.
- +1 y
Be more clear about that and that extra talk, please leave it outside of this conversation. Women are only in those positions with those type of guys because they put themselves there. That doesn't change the fact that you still have expectations

Tell people what you exactly want... good is rather vague term and relative to different people. Be specific for certain points that are not negotiable for example I don't want my girl to do drugs and something you
can compromise say for me I am okay with having sex every 4th day rather than every night although I desire it. Also for me it doesn't matter what she earns or how rich she is etc etc. So jot down points that are specific to your needs in non - negotiable , negotiable and doesn't matter section and start searching... that way you will end up with something meaningful.
THIS ALWAYS HAPPENS TO ME.
I'm destined to die alone.
But I'll also never pick up any rat either to end up even more miserable.
Plus my crushes also disappointed me.
They are just fake and temporary. So my kinda man doesn't exist at all.10 Reply
