I mean I understand him completely why he needs to put studies first, but is it too much to ask to make me feel loved, still? Like constant reassurance that he isn't neglecting me?

That's fine. Sometimes we feel lonely and want our S/o to give us attention. It can be tough but sometimes you have to force yourself to literally do anything but thing about the thing you really want for a day. Then bother him the next day. If he cares about you he will secretly enjoy being bothered just a little bit here and there as long as it doesn't really take away from his studies. Just make sure you aren't texting him every hour and let him get his work done. If its just a couple times in a day its probably fine.

Your key words there are "constant reassurance". You are what is referred to as a "High Maintenance Woman". I do not know you, you might be different, but typically HMWs expect the finer things in life to be provided for them yet resenting the time and dedication required to earn the type salary necessary to give her these things.

It's okay to feel lonely, but you're also an adult who should know how to take care of herself and deal with her emotions.

It is valid to feel lonely, and it shows mental maturity to realize that he needs to put studies first. I would say just let him know you're feeling that way, and you can work something out. Maybe one night a week you go out for a date or something
