Why is it hard for me to get a boyfriend?

Question

I never had a boyfriend before and kind of have the feeling that I want to. I don’t really go out that often nor does anyone really hold interest in me so it’s extremely difficult to find someone

I am in a similar boat, but feel God wants me to wait. I have some women friends, but I don't force relationships only build off existing ones. I spend most of my days working, but when off I think about my relationships. Being a Christian conservative adds challenge to relationships. I can marry in a year when I can support a family, but for now focusing on my relationship with Jesus, studies, and work. So many people want a place value girlfriend/relationship, but that only hurts people. Having a girlfriend just to have a girlfriend is empty and unfulfilling. The women I have as friends are various ages only three are my age. I appreciate women as they enhance life and they are a beautiful design.

You are outwardly beautiful, but a Godly relationship focusses on your relationship with Christ. A better relationship with Jesus will improve your relationship with others. Though many make comments about your body, God looks at your heart and has blessed you with other gifts. I pray you grow in the image of Christ and find His Love.

If that picture is you then you are quite attractive and you'll have plenty of opportunities. Just keep trying... keep honing your social skills, charm, be outgoing, friendly, smile at people, say hi, compliment people on their clothes, tell them they smell nice, ask them questions, show interest in them and their lives, go to social places where people are... don't give up, just keep at it. As with anything in life you'll improve the more practice you have.

I know how you are feeling. I couldn't find a nice single guy in my day -to-day life either. So I went on a dating site just to try it out. I actually did not think it would work but I was proven wrong. I went on one date and we ended up in a relationship that lasted close to a year. Eventually we split up because of communication issues. I am currently on a dating app (because of covid) and I am having a lovely time. It works for me, but I do think that if you want to try it out you should think about which dating app. Do you want a serious relationship? Go on Bumble, not Tinder.

However with all of that being said I do prefer meeting someone in real life, but that is very difficult and even a bit dangerous with covid.

It could be your age. If you just graduated highschool up untill now dating is pointless. It's only within school and most people can't drive. And you are left the same selection of people you grew up with. If you started college you notice people will either be hyper focused on that or one nighters. Give it 1-2 years. I didn't have my first valentine till college. most people get married early between 23-29. And only a couple years after dating which means the poll should be bigger dating pool. Don't get your hopes down because you could find someone on class of 100. When there millions out you're age.

You're cute.. there is no reason why you couldn't meet a good guy. There is always a chance that you have bad taste in men, and you have odd expectations of guys your age, but the most likely explanation is that you just need to put yourself out there, be available, and when you do attract a guy you like, let him know you're interested in him. For girls your age, you just have to show up, and the guys will take notice. Best of luck and be safe.

It's not easy for most people. But one thing that will help is if you can actually do some approaching as well and not wait for guys to do it. At least if you are interested in a guy, go up and try to start a conversation. If he's interested back, this shows some interest and might give him a bit more confidence to ask you out.
