Is it a redflag if a guy gifted me this short dress to wear it on our official first date? Or is he just been flirty and playful?

We have hang out together many times but never went on a proper date. Now, since we both are vaccinated we planned our first official date. And yesterday he surprised me by gifting me a dress which is little bit shorter than what I usually wear.

And he also said he'd like it if I'll wear it on out first date.

What should I do?

Who knows? Lol. Maybe he dated those kinds of girls who get off on being told what to do and how to dress? Maybe HE gets off on that stuff. Tho i usually hear it from girls squealing to eachother how much they like it when their man takes control of them.

Yeah, that’s pretty odd. It’s indicative of someone trying to dictate a relationship before there even is one. It’s something that I think guys assume works because they’ve seen in it movies, but in reality, it’s pretty creepy and weird behavior. It doesn’t really matter if you know each other already, that would leave most people uncomfortable.

Frankly, if you picked out something for him to wear, he probably wouldn’t take too kindly to it. I’d be weary.

It could be a red flag that he's a control freak. It's also so short that your panties are visible, so he may be hoping for easy access. I suggest wearing what you're comfortable in and watch for other signs that he's controlling.
