Why does my girlfriend emotionally abuse me?

She made me cry in the car today. I am very soft and get hurt easily. She was telling me I didn’t know how to dress and was asking if I was color blind because I had a blue t shirt with Levi’s, black boots and a red cap. I wasn’t matching I guess but I didn’t really care. She was showing me guys from her Instagram that follow her and telling me “dress like that.” Then she said “oh, you’re not as cute as him. Let me look for someone else.” It was stuff like that. I started crying and she said sorry, bought us food and I forgave her.

She may be abusive without realizing it. Sounds like there is a lot of talking that needs to be done between both of you and a therapist to work though that. Communication is a key element of a relationship, and you both have very different styles. It will take some work to understand each other.
