Me & my boyfriend are together since 4 years. And it's always me who ask him to go on dates. I really want him to initiate plans. What should I do?

My boyfriend is introvert since we have started dating. I really love him but sometimes I feel so bad that why cannot he make plans to go out. Yes he does small things for me but like in a year. He does give me flower or when I go to meet him he makes me a salad or order food for me. But since the beginning we have been fighting on going out as he finds sitting in a restaurant and eating junk food useless. He is a bodybuilder and he eat boiled food. But at least he can do it for me? If I can go at his place (that he likes) at least he can go out with me? How can I change that? I really feel that giving small gifts or small gestures are beautiful love language but he doesn't revert back. I do gift him cute things but he doesn't do anything like that. Even though he love me a lot. But what should I do?

Tell him explicitly that’s what you want. He’s gotten comfortable with you taking the lead all the time.

Slowly stop planning things and see how he reacts or even if he notices. If he doesn't that's kind off a red flag.
