Is 2 hours considered long distance?

We live 2 hours apart and she’s also going to college and has a lot of homework. Will it work out?

Two hours usually means 120 miles, as in 60mph... You don't say if you're working or going to another college. The round trip is 240 miles, or 4 hours total.

You simply aren't going to be able to do this every weekend. If she has a "lot" of homework, there'll be weekends she can't see you because of that or because she's studying for tests or has papers to write. You might be able to see each other monthly.

Seeing that you'll make OTHER friends where you are who you can see conveniently, you might have this acquaintance running in the background, but since you aren't sharing classes and studies and the same campus life, this is rife with difficulties.

Let it be what it can be. Someone who you see on occasion who you like. Someone you can see over the summer, and during holidays. It's unlikely it can be more than that at this point in time. Good luck.

It's not as long distance as other people, where flights or time zones are a factor.

In 2 hours, in theory, you see each other every weekend, or meet-up in the middle for a random dinner.

Obviously, it's not as convenient as a neighbor or in town thing, but you're probably not going more than a month without seeing each other

Not to be a downer, I did the same thing when I was younger, and I drove to see my girlfriend at college, and it lasted 8 months. She started to hang out with different new people and about two months later I get the call about how we should just be friends. College is a place where you will meet all kinds of new people. Looking back I gave up on some other girls to keep my girlfriend before she moved off.

You might make it. The distance is not the issue. Going off to college is. Even if you lived in the same town there would be pressure to date around.

Long distance relationships usually fail because both parties are too far away to relate. Stop wasting your & her time. Swallow your pride and break up with her because... She has endless options now. How are you going to lead her so far away. Your masculinity is at stake here, i hope you realize that. Be realistic in your choice, THINK

30 minutes didn’t seem like much to me even if I had to make a few trips in one day. But when it was her turn to drive she said it was too far. Long story short no it’s not long distance but unlikely you will be meeting for lunch especially on work breaks

She could stay at your home for a few days occasionally, or a week even maybe.
You could go to her home and stay there as well for a few days, but i think it's better if she stays with you. You'll quickly find out if you two are compatible or not this way too.
So it's probably not a lost cause, and 2 hours is not that long in my opinion.

In talking to agy who lives 2 hours away. Not sure what's gonna happen yet but if I thought 2 hours was really bad I wouldn't be talking to him. Two hours is definitely a bit of a drive but it's not too horrible and if two people care about each other enough and what it to work has enough and are willing to put in the effort they won't let a 2 hour distance stop them.

It can work out if you're both invested in the relationship. 2 hours isn't that much, it means you can see her at least once a week, or at least a couple of times in the month. I don't consider that long distance.

2 hours? If you drive or have access to public transport, no it isn't long distance.. if your only way to get there is on foot, maybe yes!

When the wife and I was dating I was first driving 12 hours after work to spend the weekend. Was able to drop it to 8 hours after moving for another job. This was over 2 years.

We'd drive 2 hours just to have supper sometimes.

It depends where you live. If the place you live has good traffic connection (like motorways, trains etc), then it's nothing to worry about.
