Is it okay to ghost a guy if you like him but you feel like you are not on the same page?

I had a few dates with a guy I met online. The dates were really good in general and we had a great connection. I didn’t appreciate, however, that he asked me a few times if I wanna go to his place at the end of both dates we had. I found it disrespectful as I am looking for something serious. Although we had a great connection (except for “let’s go to my place” part) and I do like him, I don’t think we are looking for the same things. He still texts me but I kinda wanna ghost him. I am not a big fan of ghosting and I feel kinda bad, but do I really owe him an explanation after he was kinda disrespectful by asking me to go to his place?

Unless the guy has been a complete jerk or something (which it doesn't sound like he was), talking to him and letting him know that this isn't going anywhere is the right thing to do. I don't view asking you to go to his place as a reason to ghost him since he may not even realize that he offended you. Obviously you are not on the same page and it's okay if you don't want to see him anymore, but actually communicating your feelings is a more appropriate response than simply ignoring him and leaving him wondering what went wrong.

Just tell him you enjoyed the dates but didn’t appreciate that he wanted to take you back to his place and so you feel like you aren’t really a good match for each other and wish him the best. Don’t ghost though because it’s immature. If he flips out you’ll know you made the right decision and you can proceed to block and delete his number.

You’re dating online all guys do there is try to have sex. My guess is you knew that and that’s why you likely never told him you’re only looking for something serious, or is that just a lie too?
