I know I can’t be the only one. I like to take my time when texting (sometimes several hours) even though I really like the guy I’m seeing. I don’t want to give off the impression that I’m desperate and clingy.

If I like a guy, unless I'm busy, distracted, or unable to respond to him in a timely manner, I respond as soon as I can! That's not "desperate," or "too available." That's called showing someone you're interested in them and enjoy talking to them.

I really hate that concept that you shouldn't reply too fast to someone because it looks desperate, clingy, or you're too available. NO! Stop that.
Crap like that is why dating is so convoluted and messed up nowadays. If you like someone, just talk to them. If they don't return the effort into messaging or calling as you do? Back off, or find someone that does put the effort in. It's that simple.

Mostly false. I don't do that. If I like someone, it means I'm prepared to devote at least a few minutes of my day to them. I might not reply immediately, but replying will be something I'll keep in mind to do as soon as possible (because I'm obviously excited to talk to the person I really like).

If I don't reply within 24 hours, it means I'm not particularly interested. I make that conclusion about other people who don't reply to me within 24 hours as well. Multiple instances of this makes me lose all interest and ghost them.

For me its not so , much as im taking my time ,, most people have thete phone glued to there hand ,, i hate phones so what are you at work I usually leave my phone in my work truck. I don't carry it on me because I end up breaking it if there's a way to break it I will break it.
So for me when I go to my vehicle I will check my messages if I'm not in the middle of something. And a lot of times I wish I would have had my phone on me but went through I think five phones in last past year-and-a-half

Thats me , 100% , drives me crazy those who respond too quickly , its not some form of competition , I wait until Im ready. Never appear too keen thats simply ludicrous , its a messaging service thats all , I take a long time , read it quickly normally , never just respond.
Then after I've left it , maybe , just maybe , I might take a look tomorrow. I do not allow phones in the bedroom , very poor feng sui , I control tech , not the other way around , like em more? doesn't matter. Its not a competition , if it were it would never cease.

I've always hated this type of stuff. If you like someone just respond to the text message. Games are dumb, and can sometimes ruin it for you with a person you like.

I reply fast irrespective of who it is. If I see a message, I reply immediately if I'm not busy. And if I'm busy, I just quickly say so and get back.
Delayed responses seem rude for me so I never do it.

They will take time to formulate a response, they might respond instantly they might take ages. But regarding the perception of women’s “desperation”, it’s not a real thing at all. It’s mostly just women being self-conscious.

It really just depends, I'm a full on adhd sort of guy so though I can get distracted and forget to reply or take awhile a don't mind if others do the same. But I also do love getting in a full on conversation with the right person too.
At times the postal letter like responding can be annoying to anyone. Though if it's important and I want a fast and direct answer I would call who ever I'm trying to contact

What I do is responding messages at particular times during the day. The rest of the day I don't read them, as a way to keep my mind out of that.
