Yes I said it. I really like older men. I'm 24 but being with a man twice my age really turns me on. Like instantly. Guys at my age they don't do nothing for me. I don't know why? My dad left when I was a kid so I don't know if that had something to do with it? But people think I'm creepy cause I like older men (single ones of course. I don't want anyone whose married or taken). What's wrong with me?😭

I got that when I was a teen and as a boy. I liked my pretty teachers more than the girls around me. They seemed far more sophisticated and mature. But I sorta caught up and dated around and I hardly dated girls who were older than me (not due to lack of interest) and it's like I started to think everyone is immature, and everyone is sort of an emotional mess, and everyone is unsophisticated when the clothes come off. So I stopped like girls who were older than me, and just ones with whom I clicked with most (which were starting to be around the ones my age when I came to this realization).

I think in my case at least, I always thought people my age were kind of dumb. I would halfway participate in fashion, trends, cliques, whatnot fashionable for my age but I always thought it was kind of dumb. Then I'd look at a pretty high school teacher or uni professor and she seemed above that. So I was sorta yearning to escape from the social pressures of my own age. Then I grew into her age and it's like everyone is dumb. It was kind of disappointing. It broke my fantasy. But I started just liking girls with whom I clicked after that like "I'm dumb and you're dumb and we're all dumb."

I had kind of a sobering realization not from dating women older than me but simply growing into the age of women I crushed on... as a blatant example I had an ex who was a kindergarten teacher, and she was pretty and smiley exactly like the kind of teacher I would crush on in kindergarten while we were both in our 20s. And she became too human for comfort to me (as in comfort to my fantasies) in that process. She was a great person but not above the superficial aspects of things like fashion, and same-aged social pressures... I just realized her pressures were different from the types I had as a boy. Sometimes I wonder if we're just kids pretending to be adults at my age. I see same-aged women (like my now-wife) as one who might still be a kid pretending to be an adult like I am but at least having similar experiences of trying to be one.

I think even height had some sort of effect there. Like as a boy and preteen, I was looking up to these pretty women, sort of idolizing them. Then I grew into their height -- and beyond -- until I was seeing the top of their heads. Then that, combined with many other things, made me see them in a way not to be looked up at but looked into... with similar flaws as my own. Like we're in the same boat. We're both confused about life and trying to figure it all out. I looked to them for answers as a boy but it's like I grew into their size and beyond and found they're as confused as I am. So I lost the idolatry with older women in that process.

There is nothing wrong with you. Others are trying to project their moral values on you. It is hard enough to find the right mate that you can live with and be happy. When you put limits like age or shin color you are just making things harder. Listen to your heart and tell everyone else to, mind their own business. Don't look to validation about who you like from others. Your heart will tell you the truth.

There's nothing wrong with liking older men. Just make sure that whatever older guy you're with is compatible with you in terms of maturity and life goals (ESPECIALLY when it comes to kids. If you're not on the same page there it won't work out)
