How do I let a guy friend down nicely?

A male co-worker recently asked me out. We had always been friendly, sometimes went out in a group setting. I've known him for a bit over a year but he was in a relationship, so I didn't consider him as someone I'd be interested in, but I said yes to him because he's a nice guy.

Anyways, his girlfriend broke up with him in June and he asked me out literally a week and a half ago. Before our first date he bought me snacks and put them in my locker at work, he showed up on his day off just to talk to me, and he even asked me to be official after our first date and then he ended a few of our text convo's with "ILY".

After about a week I feel as though I don't have romantic feelings for him (or I just felt super pressured to feel a certain way soo fast I got turned off?). So now I need to tell him but I don't know how to go about this in a nice way. And also before our first date he even swapped work schedules so he could work on the same day as me. Pls give helpful advice.

Yeah this guy is a co worker as well. You don't need that drama and you're already in too deep.

Tell him you're not interested in pursuing the relationship and please try to be respectful and cordial at work.

I would give it to him straight, as thats the only way to not give him false hope and also to help him accept it quicker and move forward himself.
I would tell him something along the lines of you like him as a friend but nothing more and you hope to stay friends but understand if he needs space.
If he continues the in love routine after i would break contact until he accepts it.

Be upfront and honest. Say it like you said it here. You don't have romantic feelings for him, you'd rather stay friends as you appreciate all the acts of kindness he's shown you You could also mention that he's moving too fast, you felt pressured..

If you still wanna try things out with him explain you'd rather take things in steps, that you care for him but don't want to jump ahead to quickly. There's no "easy" way to do it. Just be direct and straightforward

Be honest with him. Tell him why you said yes. Tell how you feel about him and how his affection is making you feel uncomfortable.

I went out with him at first because he asked me out and I liked his personality, and what I knew about him as a friend/co-worker. But I could have never expected him to want to be a couple after ONE date and say ILY after the first date as well. I did like him, and I would have liked to continue seeing him but him rushing into things so fast really turned me off and he felt too clingy before we even went on a third date. That's why I went out with him, because I thought things could go somewhere.
