How do you let a guy down easy?

So there's this guy who I've been texting but in a friendly way because we both have common interests and he's nice and funny and I like talking to him. However, I think he might like me but I don't like him back. Because I know that sometimes I can laugh really easily, try to lift people's spirits and talk about literally anything and at any time, he might think I'm flirting when I'm trying to be nice and a good friend to him. I just don't know how to let him down easily. I would prefer to give subtle hints that I don't like him like responding later or not caring as much but I need help because I haven't really done this before because usually irl, it always works itself out. hope this makes sense.

don't say anything like that unless he straight up tells you "i like you" THEN, you let him down by saying something like "hey i'm really really sorry if i gave the wrong vibe, but i really enjoy talking to you, tho i dont feel the same, i hope its ok." some like that I don't know if i put it in the best wording. if you say something like that right away he might be confused because he many not even like you that way either. but yeah, don't lead him on, cause that'll be worse.

You tell them the truth bluntly as soon as you know it.

You do not mess around, waste time, be subtle or any of that other shit.

You must be explict, absolutely clear.

Its over, done, i dont want that from you not now, not ever, we won't be seeing each other anymore.

like i'm not trying to mess with him and i think he knows that i just like being friends. i just don't know how to say that without him say "oh you though i liked you" or it getting weird because i though something that wasn't there.

He can say whatever he likes it doesn't matter.

You can cover yourself easily enough you literaly just tell him the truth, it isn't complicated.

You just say I dont know if you had intentions of persuing me or not (its not relevant) but I already know that i am not interested in you that way and i just want to be clear about what it is that i want because i dont want to be any misunderstandings or upsets etc.

You just make it about you and then its nothing to do with what he might want or him saying oh you thought x, y, z. No i didn't think anything i am not presuming anything i am simply taking a precaution because i have been here before and i want to deal with a potential issue before there is a chance for it to ever become and issue so that i can have peace of mind right now.

send him a text message in which you show that you are talking with someone other, and you wanted to send this text someone other guy, but by mistake you send it to him.
in that text try to show him that you like the other guy.
