He said we’re going too fast?

Hi everyone! I’ve recently been seeing a guy for about 4 weeks. We see eachother once a week, and it has been going great. This last date was a little more casual, and we just spent the evening at my apartment watching a movie/cuddling. We haven’t had sex yet, but we have done other things. After this last date, I told him he could stay the night if he wanted (he also told me I could spend the night by him last time- but I didn’t). He said he couldn’t, and that he had somewhere to be pretty early. I had a strange feeling when he left that something had gone wrong. He texted me the next day saying how great of a time he had, but he thinks things are going too fast. He said he isn’t ready for a full relationship but really enjoys spending time with me. I told him that I had not planned on even discussing a relationship until later on in this, and that I was okay just doing what we were doing. He responded that he was glad we were on the same page. I asked him if he was okay still seeing each other casually and he said yes. I haven’t heard from him since then. I want to be respectful of the fact that he wants something casual, and casual daters don’t normally text everyday. Am I being naive in thinking he still wants to see me? Or was it a nice way of saying he doesn’t want to see me anymore? I should mention that I had also made a comment about possibly seeing him more than once a week.
