So as I've mentioned my coworker tried pairing me up with her son. I ignored his text because I wasn't interested. He had never seen nor met me. I looked him up on Facebook to see who he was and from there noted he just doesn't meet my criteria.
Anyways today, his mother was at work asked me how my weekend was I said great went to the lucky dog and brew. It's a bar for pet owners. She said ," you took your dog to the bar I gotta find you a man." Mind you she's the lady with the bad knees, single, who's son is a mommas boy. Like girl hook yourself up by getting a knee replacement. Next

Does it piss anyone else off when someone tries to play matchmaker for you? Like how do they know if the person even meets your criteria?
When I was younger, my sister set up a blind date with the sister of a guy she worked with.
It was the only blind date I have ever been on, and it was excellent. The restaurant we ate at actually kicked us out because we spent way too much time after eating just talking and enjoying each other's company. It ended up being a summer fling, which actually was good for both of us. She realized that the guy she had been dating (and wanted to break up with) was the right guy for her. And I learned a lot about myself and how to (try to) understand women, which led me to getting married just a year later.
So, simple answer to the question. I think it's fine for someone to play matchmaker.
I hate being hooked up! I like to do it on my own terms and in my own way. Others always exaggerate to the person and ruin things. Someone tried to hook me up recently and they wanted to be aggressive with the person. Im so glad i told them no and i took the approach on my own and the feeling was mutual 🙏 All the “hooking me up” in HS always backfired. Either they werent my type or if they were, they were told inaccurate info about my feelings for them. So yea i do so much better approaching myself

I only had this done once. When I was in college I lived in the dorms. I had a fiend that was a commuter and lived nearby. His girlfriend wanted to fix me up with one of her friends. We went to a bar and this girl met us there. I did not have a car. WE did not hit it off at all. She was hostile and I thought she was kind of mean. My friend and his girlfriend thought it would be funny if they left me there with her. When we found out they left she said she was leaving too. The bar was about 4 or 5 miles from where I lived. It was freezing outside. I asked her if she would give me a ride home and she said no. I jumped on the hood of her car and she tried to shake me off but I held on. Finally she stopped and gave me a ride home. It was a quiet ride.
Actually, I have been fixed up with several REALLY great dates, and they worked out very well. My tax guy fixed me up with a girl who teaches at Cal State Davis, and we lip locked on our first meeting
My hair dresser fixed me up with a very pretty woman who works for my insurance company. Another very good date.
I always get a bit pissed on the inside when people make assumptions about me. Which makes me reluctant to follow through with any of their ideas, even if I had ideas aligned with theirs.
But I also know that is something I need to work on so I try to put it behind me asap and open my mind to new experiences.
The woman you mentioned sounds to be a real pain though. Uugh.
I really do NOT like for someone to try to play matchmaker with me. It is so annoying. Especially when they say, "You two would be the perfect match", without any real reason "why"...
I think introductions are OK if there are common interests. But "matchmaking", no way.
Yeah because it puts too much pressure on the situation. I would rather they just invite me to a party where there's a bunch of people and let me see who I vibe with. I don't like other people involved in my relationships either. I hate when they pressure me to message some woman that I'm not even into, then she doesn't even return my message and I look like an idiot. Then they keep texting me to not give up. Like really? I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THAT CHICK, LEAVE ME ALONE!!
Some people do it because they use you to gain attention of people try to match with you. If you're single and good looking you're perfect lure for girls who seek new female friends and players who want taking over girls they don't attract buy you do. Thinking people try to play the matchmaker for you just because of their benevolence is really gullible.
It was done once or twice appallingly badly (by girls who probably wanted me so set me up with really nonsensical 'matches'), and at least once surprisingly well (the only thing she didn't have were the bright eyes, the rest was in the 99th percentage)
It doesn't annoy me. I know they just want me to find love and happiness. I don't mind going out with the person to see if there is any chemistry or just to learn to be comfortable around boys and figure them out more.
It’s annoying, but people generally mean well. People caring enough about you to try earns them a pass in my book, as long as they listen to you when you ask them to stop.
Never get matched up by anyone that isn't in a stabile healthy relationship themselves. If your single you should try to find yourself a match not trying to match your rejects with others.
If someone played matchmaker for me I'd be grateful. Seems like all my friends just want to feel sorry for me then move on dragging me as the third wheel.
I mean their just trying to be helpful but if you don’t like than say something as for me it is what it is

No. I'm happy to hear them out, we know it's unlikely they have what I'm looking for but I can be polite about it. And I'm curious to see what they think we have in common, it's fun.
Why be angry? She cares and wants to help. Look at it an an opportunity. Sure, it's an unlikely one, but maybe you were looking in the wrong places before, and what's wrong with making another friend?
Again, I don't know if you guys are missing the mark or what. That was just a snarky remark for me not being interested in her son. I read between the lines. I'm not interested in her help. She need to help herself and her son.
