Guy asked me out, told me he fell ill and will “keep me posted”... is he stringing me along?

So he asked me out, I agreed. After a day or so I asked him if he had a specific day in mind to which he responded he didn’t know since he recently caught something (illness) but will keep me posted.
Am I being hypercritical in thinking he should send more than “keep me posted”? Like he’s stringing me along? I feel like he has another date instead so he’s just telling me this. But maybe I’m just overthinking it?

Probably overthinking it. If he asked you out, he was obviously interested. He could very well be ill, which the way things are in the world right now, you can't be too careful.
