He is not cheering my acomplishments?

I recently meet a guy that I really like. We have had a couple dates and they have being great.

We already told eachother our interest in a relationship and we have had very meaningful moments, but I started to feel there might be a red flag: he only speaks about himself. He acts very kind and asks me a lot of questions to know me better but I recently share with him that I acomplish the publication of my first paper at Europe and he just say something like "I'm glad you are having a great week" and start talking about an issue at his job.

I get he might not be into research field, or know me to understand why this is important to me, but to be glad for a "great week?"...

Any thoughs?

I'm sure he is happy for you. Bit different things mean differently to people. Whether it is accomplishment or pain, you don't fully feel it, unless it is you who is in the recieving end. Especially with subjects which interest you less.

Definitely sounds like he’s a little too focused on himself… did you make it sound important to you or did you include it in a longer message with other topics?

I thought so, he ask me how I was doing and I told him "the big news" I received two voice notes about the same issue and not even a question about the subject matter of the paper :/

There’s probably no explanation besides the fact that he carry’s selfish traits. That means he doesn’t find what you do on a day to day basis interesting or more importantly he doesn’t care that much
