I've never been on a date, so what do you actually do on a date?

Where to meet? what to talk about? should it be in the day or at night? what to wear?

I've never actually been on a date , and so , the entire dating game is pretty new to me. My friends have been going on dates but i never cared to ask them , probably because i was too shy.
It'd be nice if you shared your previous dating experiences , or give advices as im a newbie. and if you feel uncomfortable sharing it here , my DMs are always open.

Generally, you go out somewhere fun, it could be anything like something small like a walk in a park or go to get ice cream or coffee if you're into that. Or it could be something more like dinner, or to a theme park, or an arcade it really depends on you. As for once you're there you talk to each other about anything but typically your goal is to get to know each other better. You ask questions about each other's past, their hobbies, goals, passions, and anything else along those lines. In the end, the important thing is to have fun above anything else.

Now as far as your question goes, to me a first date is about getting to know the person. Usually it has a combination of a coffee or a meal, and something like bowling, minigolf, or just a trip to the zoo. That first date ls supposed to be casual, fun and opportunistic to find commonalities that relationships can be based on.


The 2nd date is good to have at home cooking together and watching a movie or something.

I honestly just went on a date not too long ago, we got some coffee and had an amazing talk. We ended up becoming exclusive soon after.
We kept things simple, we talked about hobbies, interests, favorite things/places/foods/etc., we asked questions constantly.
I dressed casual, just some jeans, t shirt, and a jacket. He dressed in jeans and a button up. For first dates, I usually go meet them in the day time, I feel safer that way.




Every date is err different, do something where you have something in common with that person. For example, you both like chinese food, go to a chinese restaurant!

Dates come differently for everyone. Some people are into going out to spontaneous places, others like even dinners , and others like morning breakfasts in pjs and messy hair. It all depends. The purpose of a date is to explore a potential partner , while having fun and actually feeling comfortable with the person. Just be friendly, don't think too much into. Treat him just like another friend, talk, chat, laugh and enjoy each others company.

Wear whatever you want, try not to have it be something you'll be thinking about, if you are self conscious. Such as, oops my skirt is too short, or my top is too loose, you don't want him to focus on that. Focus on you as a person and you don't want to be distracted by it either. Just be comfortable.

Something fun together. Get to know each other. Honestly, the lame ones are dinner or movie. Because it feels cliche. I mean, you should do something to show each other who you are or what makes you, you. If you both FEEL good after the date then a second date is in order! I've only dated as an adult (ish) so I don't really know what young people do on dates. That said the general concept is you meet at a nice place (doesn't have to be expensive), you talk about life and stuff, possibly kiss at the end and then you go back home.

İt's not much different from meeting friends, the main point is conversation and creating a good impression, clothes don't matter as long as you don't do anything too extreme, you're supposed to be trying to look good so don't sweat it.

Meet in a public setting; daytime or early evening is best. Clean, nice clothes; nothing too risqué. Talk about your interests and try to find common ground.

My BEST dating experiences were often simple, cheap and fun. For example, meeting for coffee or a meal (even McDonald's) or a walk on the boardwalk and talking and talking and talking about EVERYTHING for 4 hours until we're both exhausted!
