Trending & News Nah it has made meeting people in real harder,
if you sell a product online and in the shops, it’s often harder to get it in the shop.
The online shop, gives you lots of variations of the same product, the shop only stocks a few types.
This works both ways for guys and girls.
it also has the shit thing of say a guy or girl, see 10 gym type people they like look of on an online App, each is shit for some reason, when they notice a gym type person in he real world, they move past it, as the other 10 online reviews were shit.
Lockdown made it even harder for people to shop, as those real world places did not have any stock and it was all online.
Personally online dating makes it harder by making it so that someone with decent online skills, able to get decent photos and word a profile, has a better chance against a guy who in real world would normally not have problems, such as how he walks, talks, interacts with people. It’s very flat and dull at times, with no personality there.
It also means that guys are competing against other guys who normally don’t socialise and meet girls in the real world, they are competing against guys with no or poor social skills. That is a big problem and does effect relationships long term, looks good but shit in the real world.
I think profiting off of lonely people who are hoping to find somone gives the company running the platform all the more reason to get you to come back. Considering the fact tinder and hinge both cost thirty cock-sucking dollars a month in the hopes of meeting someone shows the incentive. So I'm sure (in various ways) these platform holders try to ensure you to keep buying their shitty services. So in that sense it's harder.
But in the sense of giving people (like me) an obvious group of (presumably) single women who are looking for a partner one place to look. I'm sure it's easier, at least I don't have to gauge the situation to see if she's single. Plus it's low stress. So it's a wash.
I don't know the numbers, but surely it also made it easier for some guys.. like the ones who are too shy to approach/ask out a girl in real life, not keen on risking getting involved with someone from school or work or just don't interact with many people. I personally barely dated until I found online dating because of the first couple of reasons.
So yes if you assume that guys and girls get similar amounts of matches. But data from various studies have shown that 80% of women only swipe right on the same 20% of men. there's debate around why this is but some say it’s due to online apps being quite 2 dimensional so naturally it favours those who look good in photos and are able to write good bios. Naturally due to the number of likes women get, they are a lot pickier. The differences are indeed quite striking. An average woman can swipe right on 2 out of 10 guys and still get a lot of matches. An average man on the other hand can swipe right on everyone and get 0 matches in a week even after working on their profile.
offline dating still exists, you need to include statistics on that to get the whole picture.
Offline it should in theory be less skewed as long as people are confident enough to approach/make their interest known. But some say it has made it harder offline as their thought process says why bother if it’s so easy online now. I think though at the end of the day, it’s made it harder to get a relationship on apps as the minority of guys who do get matches have too much choice. And most women also have too much choice. Which ultimately makes both groups pickier and more flakey.
If they think it is easy offline it is probably not the same who have trouble with online dating.
As said I really don't know the numbers here, like how many have better chances with online compared to offline, and how many are still going for offline (which I don't think people should just give up). But I just wanted to point out that it also became easier for some. I personally know a handful of couples where the types of people would very rarely (if ever) have found each other offline.
And I don't think it is as simple as being girls high expectations as the main reason for it to possibly be harder for men. They cannot all get the 20% best looking men and so also go for average, I think especially in real life where personality plays in a lot more.
The statistics speak for themselves online. Men will generally swipe right on a lot more people than women. That’s the difference.
You again totally neglect offline dating.
I agree online dating is harder for the average guys. But that does not mean dating in general. Making such a jump from online dating statistics is not valid.
Offline it’s harder to measure. I think some of the sort of guys who turn to online heavily tend to be quite shy offline. And of course it will be hard for shy people offline. And online can be hard for them too.
I think there is also some validity though in saying that online dating has raised expectations for women because they have access to a lot of men at their fingertips literally so why should they settle for less? It’s basic supply and demand.

It absolutely 1,000% did. Before sex/dating apps or even internet, average guy had a chance of getting a girl, since girls were limited to their choices of what they had around them (small towns, small cities, local bars, local high schools, collages, work places etc... I think you got an idea). Now days, with global hyper internet connection and countless sex/dating apps, their horizon has been Broadened to basically an unlimited range, plus they don't even have to go out to meet guys. Now days, they have a FULL access to top 15% percenters, leaving 85% of average guys and below in a dumpsters. That is exactly why you have this horrific division. On one hand, you have top 15% percenters who get so much Ass that their dicks are constantly sore, while on the other hand you have 85% who can BARELY get laid and if they do, that is because girls weren't able to get to those 15% percenters or those type of girls are already 30+ years old.
I’m not sure if even being 30+ makes a difference. Maybe 40+
It does, because woman have a biological clock, where they can have a baby without risking OR having a low risk of birth defects or miscarriage's and that age is (18-25) After 25 they start loosing their value, yearly. And after 30+ not many guys want to have kids with these type of women anymore, because they are afraid of having sick kids (Perfectly understandable and fully justifiable). As it goes for women in their 40's, unless you simply having them just so you can plow their asses, for most rational and smart men, having kids with 40+ year old women should be completely out of question, for obvious and logical reasons.
What about mid 30s women?
I'm just telling you facts, if you want to take a high risk in having a sick youngling, go right ahead. Just don't complain when you be chained up with a sick child for the rest of your life when you constantly 24/7/365 days a week have to take care of him or her. That means, no vacations, no days off, no time for PS5 or going out with friends and where woman that you had that child with, be blaming YOU and you only for having such a kid.
It was a question - not an invitation for a rant. What about mid 30s women?
I answered it, with a thorough explanation.
wouldn't say itbraised their expectations but the amount of choice women have they now get to demand more to weed out what they don't like as with all things tho there are exceptions to the rule
So it’s created a strong buyers market in other words.
But doesn’t that mean that less people (both guys and girls) are ending up with successful long term relationships off the apps?
So that would suggest a mismatch between guys expectations and girls expectations off these apps?
A bit confused on this one. Do you mind elaborating?
Yes. I get that. But assuming the number of men and women on the app are roughly equal, surely they should all end up in relationships. It suggests that there’s less commitment.
Honestly I feel it has made it a lot easier for guys like me... if anything I think it has lowered girls expectations in men. So I look a lot more favorable in then rest of those loser.
This is on the assumption that everyone goes online dating websites
Probably true. But the existence of cities makes dating harder for women by raising guys' expectations.
It becomes DRAMATICALLY easier if you try to date in real life.
Yeah, lots of attention for those who crave it.
