When you go to a dating site what is the first thing you usually notice? It is usually their profile pics and people usually base their asking someone out by their looks. So I have no idea why they would wear a mask as it defeats the purpose of them being there.

Pandemic protocol? They might catch Covid from themselves taking a selfie, or from someone else looking at them on another device, breathing or coughing on them?

You mean other masks? To hide. To give as much physical confirmation without revealing their face, in case a family member, relative, friend, acquaintance, or co-worker might recognize them? They're not interested in the questions, the ridicule, or the ribbing.

Maybe, they're trying to indicate that they're dominant or submissive, or into that lifestyle? Maybe they were at a New Years or costume party, and they're using it to show how fun they are? Maybe they're hiding from the law or an ex?

The answers are plentiful. It's your job to ask them personally, why the mask, provided they answer you and answer the question?

For real? That’s hilarious. The point of those apps is to try and attract people to your profile, and if they can’t see your whole face right away then you’re doing yourself a major disservice.

I posted my picture from Italy on SDC (Swingers Dating Club) so couples knew what I looked like, and they, likewise, posted their picture. They were both heavier than myself, but I didn't want to be an A-hole and went ahead with it. I liked them both and I was not with another woman, just the three of us, and I'm glad I did it.
